These work great
I read about the spacing issues on some power strips but I bought these to increase the number of outlets on my Cyberpower UPS so I took a chance on them and I will say I am glad I did. These work great with the spacing I have on this UPS.Due to how all the outlets are oriented in one direction on the UPS and only half the outlets are battery, I was not able to plug all the devices I wanted into the battery side of the UPS; I had to resort to using battery outlets for non-critical devices. Since I have such a low load on the UPS, I am able to put more devices on the surge side and increase the battery runtime in an outage and have freed up two additional outlets on the battery side for future use.The cables themselves are very heavy duty and look to be able to stand a lot of usage. The pass-thru ports on the back of the male end are very snug and although it takes a little force to plug something in, they are certainly going to stay plugged in. All in all I would say these are great for someone who wants to better balance the battery load on your underutilized UPS.

I have already put three of the five to use and they are working fine. the product does what it is supposed to do. I see people complaining about tight fitting connections...as opposed to what? a loose connection? The only drawback I see in the design was the angle the cord came off at the pass though did block one of the empty outlets, but I gained so many connections for small, low amp drawing power supplies it did not matter. These seem to be well constructed and of high quality. I would suggest carefully adding up the total draw of this extension as well as any other you use to make sure you are not overloading the circuit. I cannot count how many problems I have seen with people overloading strips, extensions...etc. and this device makes it tempting to do so, just be careful.

Ordered me a second set 7/30/15. The first set has held up trouble free and has provided outstanding service with many being used on my battery backups with devices drawing small amounts of current. The power strips have performed excellent, I feel confident in recommending this product after testing them over a period of time.

I will admit that I had to rearrange how some of the plugs already plugged into the power strip. I found that all of the pass through plugs work fine. I will also admit that some of the reorganizations were based upon the size of the plugs that I put in the pass through plugs. I have found it way better to have all "wall-wart" type plugs do better when they are plugged in to the rat-tails. This way, they rest on the floor independently and do not precariously balance in the power strip and the size of the "wall-warts" do not block use of many plugs. Lastly, it makes sense that phone charger type plugs fit on the end.

My last observation is that the use of power strips all over the house with the additional pass through plugs makes it so clear just how many devices requiring electricity are used in my house and office. It is scary. I don't know or what I would do if electricity was not plentiful, reliable, and relatively cheap.

I have purchased 15 or 20 of these rat-tail pass throughs. I think that they are a great product

I have been revising two areas where I have a lot of tangled cables, by buying shorter cables, power strips, network hubs, and the like to reduce the run of cables needed to connect equipment together - the home entertainment area (which mixes stereo, TV, and computer equipment) and the home office PC (which is the same except with a computer monitor instead of a TV, and has more computers, and more wall warts).

This flavor of power strip liberators, with the pass through option, allows me to make better use of the power strip while still supporting the wall warts for things like network hubs and other computer accessories. Equipment that uses wall warts require very little current, so it does not burden the circuit to "double up" a socket. Therefore, a pass-through plug/socket pair allows me to still use the power strip socket for a computer while also plugging in a wall wart for some device. It's easier to understand by seeing it than in words.

Having the wire come off at an angle makes this fit well into my power strip. If there was an improvement to this device, it would be to shorten the wire to just a couple of inches, so that the wall wart is a bit closer to the power strip, with a bit less cable clutter. But I suppose that having the wire at this length gives a bit more flexibility that will be important for some situations.

Four stars means "I like it". It's a very useful product, price is right. It does the job it is designed to do. Why not five stars? I reserve five stars for products that go above and beyond somehow, and this simply does its job.
