For one, I dont think Apple makes a Displayport to HDMI cable, and on top of that, this is way cheaper than if they did.

I had an off brand apple style adapter and disliked it. This was exactly what I was looking for. Just about any modern TV or monitor has HDMI in, so this is a one stop solution for video AND audio out.

Cant beat the price and and it works great, delivering perfect video and audio to my TV or external monitor.

Just bought a new 27" Samsung Monitor that had an HDMI input. I use a MacBook Pro that has the Thunderbolt port. This cable does support the Thunderbolt port. I plugged it straight in to the computer and monitor and it works just fine. It allows me to get rid of that bulky analog adapter that always set on my desk and got tangled up in wires. I am satisfied with this product.
