Afghanistan's Kandahar province is the seat of the Taliban and one of the most violent parts of the country. Over a three year period, Video Journalist Paul Johnson captured the encounters between Western soldiers and the traditional Pashtun society of Kandahar.
I try to get a prospective on the conflict in Afghanistan from as many sources as I can locate. Granted this tale could have been told in greater length and details, but in its short time it gave me additional understanding/grasp of what is happening. It adds credence to the mishandling of this conflict from the beginning. This short film allows the viewer to observe the people and soldiers become victims of a continuing history in a place that has destroyed nations that have tried to become rulers. No this is not an Academy Award winning film, but it is surely not a 1 rating and it is worth watching.
I like the documentary about war in Iraq and Afghanistan not because I glorify war.But it gives you a perspective of what men and women went through during their time of service. And I appreciate the journalist that were embedded , with those troops . Who make it possible for people like myself to see
