Screwed up my trackpad

This does the job, however, it screwed up my Macbook Air's trackpad. Because of this thing's thickness, when the Air's lid is closed, this thing presses a bit against the trackpad. Over time, my Air thought the trackpad button was constantly being pressed, and so whenever I moved my mouse it would annoyingly highlight text or drag things around. No good!

Fortunately I was able to fix this by literally bending (slightly) my Air. The button "popped" back out.

Itty Bitty Device That is HUGE in Functionality

This little item is one of the tiniest things I have ever purchased, but it does the job in a big way. It fits unobtrusively over my webcam lens and blends in with my computer so seamlessly that I hardly know it is there. So far, I love it and would highly reccommend it for webcam security.

Since we have several computers in the house, I ordered both of them to see which I like better. I have to say that the C-Slide is better for a laptop because the Hacker Hood is so large and bulky that I cannot close my computer when it is in use. The C-Slide is completely out of the way - functioning as it is supposed to while not interfering with the operation of the computer. People who have a desktop or all in one computer might like the Hacker Hood because those types of computers don't close and the Hacker Hood is larger and sturdier, with a cool side effect of polishing the webcam lens with it's soft felt surface. The Hacker Hood is all one piece so it is almost indestructible, and large enough so that it would be difficult to lose. It is simply too big and bulky to work well on a laptop and the C-Slide is absoluty superior for that application.

There are two minor negatives to the C-Slide.

First, because it is so small, it is easily lost of broken. Once it is installed, there will be little danger of losing it, but it is rather delicate and could easily be damaged. If it is important to you that your webcam cover be large and sturdy, I think you might be happier with the Hacker Hood. However for me, the tiny size is a plus.

Second, for some reason, these little items tend to get lost in the mail, delaying delivery if yours gets lost. The seller is very good about sending out replacements if you don't receive it, though. Mine got lost and he promptly answered my inquires and sent me another one, but I still had to wait awhile to get mine. It was worth waiting for, though, and I intend to order several more for gifts.

Might Not Fit Your Mac

This is a very handy little cover. If you ever need to cover up the webcam on your laptop or phone, tablet etc... this can get the job done. One thing you should know is that it is slightly too thick for a macbook pro with retina display. The laptop will not completely close up, thus making this webcam cover far less usable. For other devices this is very useful if you ever need to cover up the webcam.

What a great product! I was tired of using stickers that made my camera dirty. This works great to ensure privacy while being able to still access your camera when needed. I rarely skype but once in a while I have to and prior to using this had to constantly clean the camera first because of all the different sticky stuff I used to block the camera.

Also...I use this on my laptop and have no issues closing it.

Works great; have not found it to be as fragile as reported

Purchased after reading the other reviews.
Arrived quickly via mail, applied easily on my laptop.
For the price it was worth purchasing to check it out.
Have not found it to be fragile; it is made of lightweight plastic to keep it thin so your laptop lid will close with it installed. Therefore should be treated as lightweight plastic in use.
Works fine for me, and it is not too thick as reported in some reviews. Different laptops have different distance tolerances in closing their tops all the way.
My Digital Storm gaming laptop has two small rubber bumpers inside, at the top of the lid, to keep the lid from hitting the base when closing; the C-Slide is thinner than the two rubber bumpers are; so the laptop lid closes fine with it installed. Have no problems at all with placing the laptop in Sleep Mode by closing the lid.

Recommend this product.

Not the highest quality, but still a very good product!

I was super excited to find this product because it's scary to think that someone can access my webcam without my knowledge. I have just applied the product to my computer. The packaging it comes in (just a regular letter envelope) is not very protective but mine thankfully was in good condition. It's very easy to apply to your computer. You just remove two pieces of adhesive tape from the product and then press it firmly on to your laptop or other device. The product is not of the highest quality, but it stuck well and is thin enough that my laptop still closes perfectly. I think it's an ingenious design and it slides back and forth freely so far. Good stuff!
