On The Edge is the story of how God changes lives. In 1993, at age 45, I took every mistake I or anyone I knew had ever made, and put them all in one character, an attorney named Richard Sullivan. Thomas Nelson, the first publisher, said that the manuscript was "anointed", and they immediately agreed to publish it (with no agent). As soon as On The Edge came out, readers began telling us that the book had opened their eyes to the spiritual warfare that goes on continually, and in many cases it transformed their lives. Now, all these years later, people still find me and email or leave a voice message that the story has deeply impacted how they view their family and friends. I certainly don't know exactly how demons and angels work in our lives, but On The Edge gives what must be a credible account. Mothers have given copies to their teenage daughters' friends. Businessmen have given copies to their associates. My wife and I live in Atlanta with the joys and challenges of a large family. I've been researching and writing about faith, government and business for over twenty-five years, including three novels, an anthology of short stories, and eight years of blog posts.

After attending London School of Economics as a Marshall Scholar (1968-70), I served for three years as the Communications and Intelligence Officer on the USS Wainwright (CG-28), based in Charleston, S.C. Since then I've logged a lot of years in all aspects of commercial and investment real estate, in both the U.S. and Russia. Parenting, grandparenting, and writing are my passions.

I was fortunate enough to meet the author, F.Parker Hudson while at the Atlanta Airport. We ended up giving him a ride home from airport. He gave me a copy of this book. After reading this book, I was on my hands and knees, asking Jesus into my heart. This book was well-written, page turner book that gave a realistic approach to show how and why God is so important.

like I said, this book is what brought me to my hands and knees, alone in my living room, crying and begging Jesus to enter my heart and in my life. I did the sinner's prayer without even knowing how. This was back in 1995. I was living in sin with an abusive boyfriend in Georgia at the time. Within the next couple of weeks I had my car packed, in August, without a/c and with my cat and litter box, where I drove home to San Diego, CA (my parents home). I had to drive over 2000 miles. With all the areas I could have broken down, I ended up breaking down near San Antonio, TX, where my recent x's aunt and uncle lived. I knew no one else in Texas so I called them for help. Not only did they get my car fixed, but they took me on the best camping trip I ever had.

Think about it; God has His protecting hand on me. Out of all those miles, He made sure there was a safe place for me to break-down. God used this book to save me. Thank you, F. Parker Hudson! I pray the Lord keeps using your books to help bring other lost souls to Our most loving Lord.

I thought when I first started reading it, it would be cheesy. Then it was like a reality show or soap opera, I was looking into the life of a normal American family. Just like yours, and mine. I couldn’t put it down! Then the possible end..was like a literal punch in the stomach. I’ve never had a book make me feel like that..the wind is knocked out of you, you can’t breathe, unbelievable. I learned so much from this book..it is super heavy! This is definitely a life changer. You’ll be shocked. 100%. This book is extremely graphic in parts-the writer tried to warn me but I didn’t believe it..another eye opener as to how that happens. Those voices in our heads..try a sample..if you get through this book..you won’t be the same.

Story was engaging, characters were easy to love. Summary compared it to Frank Peretti but I did not find it equal. I also believe that some of the theology was right on but some was not. For instance, the story repeatedly talks about man's immortal soul but 1 Timothy 6:16 states that only God is immortal. The issue regarding hell was focused on the parable of Lazarus and the rich man that Jesus told, based on Greek myths that His hearers were familiar with and with a lesson that had nothing to do with hell, and ignored the many Bible references that actually speak of God's fire. HellTruth.com is a good source for a comprehensive study of this subject both in the Bible and in the history of its fabrication and adoption by the Catholic church. And there are several other doctrinal errors. Just like the Left Behind series, this story can touch your heart as long as you study your own Bible and understand where fact and fiction part ways. All in all its a good story. Just remember, God is all powerful. But even more so, He is complete love. Happy reading!

I just finished On the Edge. Wow, where do I start! I liked the first part of the book which was dark and suspenseful. Then the rest of the book shows how so many lives affect so many people for good or for bad. This book makes you want to be the good. Its a hard book to put down. Life lessons and God's answer to our trials and blunders are all in there. The ending was perfect. You won't be disappointed. I'm still sitting here processing the whole book. It will make you think about your life and what kind of relationship you have with God. And this books will make you crave for more of God! Don't miss this blessing! Read it!!!

What a great read. Challenging...inspiring as well as a bit scary. Especially when a non believing character passed away and the demon was waiting.
Prayer is more than important, and this book makes one realise how important it is.
In many ways it reminded me of The Screw Tape Letters by C S Lewis, but without the humour.
The story moved along nicely. No matter how late it got, I couldn't stop reading. It was well written with realistic characters.
A great book for Christians...inspiring us to go deeper in prayer. For non believers, a challenge, and certainly something to think about.
A wake up call for us all!
This is a book I can recommend.

I am still reading this racy book. I can appreciate the storyline and anticipate where it is leading, but then, that is because I am a Christian and have read Frank Piretti's Present Darkness. I think it is an important subject to write fiction about.
Regarding the style and presentation, I find it difficult to switch who is in dialogue with whom sometimes as the paragraphs run together. Personally, I would prefer more space between the scenes. I have only given a three star vote as I don't like the style, though I do like the subject.

I found this book heavily focussed on how much more powerful than God, the devil is. It states that unbelievers cannot hear God yet right through Scripture and down the ages, God has spoken to His children, hence the dreams the Muslims have.
