Is it me or the app ?

I installed this on my motorola razr a few hours ago and I'm uninstalling now. Eating the three dollars and going to android marketplace to give their tapatalk app a shot. This one is not playing well with my droid ..... or maybe it's me ? One way or the other, it is gone.

Edit; went to android market and it is the same app ..... so it must be my ineptitude .... scratching my head ..... I'll give it some more time and practice and see how it works for me. More later.

It was me .... not the app :-( Took some time to get the 'lay of the land' on it and familiarize myself with settings and options but the app works. I'm not yet sure whether I like it better than viewing without it through the browser but I gave it two more stars and may come back with a further update as I become better acquainted with it.

I do not have a lot of time to spend in a black at a computer on line, chatting it up on forums -- so subway rides, car rides, trips to the library now can be venues for my forum time. This app is great, really well-featured, and fast and light. It even lets you watch Youtube links and if you are like me, and don't use "mice," you can format your text, put up your own youtube links if you know the tag codes.

My only problem, and this is minor, is that when you look up a profile on a forum, it omits quite a bit of data -- HOWEVER -- you can flip to the web view of the site for this very quickly.

Bravo, my friends. Tapatalk 2 beats Forumrunner hands down.

If I get $5 together, I'll get Tapatalk 4 -- I can only imagine how good it is.

I normally only get free apps. This is the only app I've ever paid for and I have it on 3 devices. It serves it's purpose, but it could be better. For one, it could be free. I don't know what a forum has to do/be in order to get access through Tapatalk but there aren't many available. If it weren't for ECF I would never have gotten this app. I have tried to search for other relevant forums but have come up empty. It's a helpful app if you are a very regular member of a forum that is accessible through it, otherwise it's a waste of money.

It's great that you get timely notifications with this app -- this is my favorite feature. As many other reviewers have posted, this app has many favorable features. What makes this app unusable for me is that it marks posts and forums read when they are not causing me to miss posts and sometimes whole threads. This is extremely disappointing. It also gives repeat notifications of read posts as if they were unread -- this is merely annoying and wastes time, but it is annoying. I enjoyed the good aspects of the app but I have been repeatedly embarrassed on one forum because I did not see posts (or threads) due to this glitch.

It works as stated, but there are issiues. I have had it shut down for no reason and when I clicked on a photo or tried to pinch resize a photo or close a photo. Sometimes It will loose connection. My phone is the Samsung Galaxy II. Other than those issiues it works great. I don't really need it with this phone, but keep seeing it on most of the forums I go to and figured I would give it a try.

I've been using this app for only 2-3 months so far. it's very handy for checking on forums when away from the computer. The interface is very user-friendly.
tapatalk has needed to be forced to close several times during viewing of picture-heavy threads. Have gotten an error message on four or five occasions that has forced me to remove and reinstall the app.
...but aside from those issues, like it a lot.

This used to be one of the best apps for Android, when it was just a way to organize all your message board accounts in 1 place

But recent updates killed all functionality of the app. It now constantly recommends trending topics on forums you aren't a part of. And about topics that you might not give 2 cents about.

To make matters worse they redesigned the UI to minimize the amount of screen real estate that's actually used for the app. The rest of it is taken up with giant graphics and recommendations for other forums now. It's basically like going to one of those spam webpages that lures you in by saying it's an article about "6 things everyone should do to survive a zombie attack" or something that sounds intriguing, then when you click the link the page has 1 tiny blurb about the topic and the rest of the screen is filled with unrelated nonsense ads because the whole thing was just click bait to get hits on their ad page.

That's what the new Tapatalk has become.

Thank goodness for Titanium Backup and rooting, which allowed me to easily revert to the older, properly working versions.

Avoid this new version like the plague.

This is a pretty good way to access forums from your favorite Android device. The interface is slick, and it works with darn near every web forum I use. I'm used to reading by forum, and by default this shows the most recent posts in all subforums for a given site. Still, nice to use on the go. I would buy this again.
