Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This guitar is great, very decent weight, solid feeling switches/knobs, great finishes all the way around, not to mention the fantastic clean tones that this gives out, and an overall very premium feeling classic Telecaster at an unbelievable price point. I ordered my guitar off of sweetwater.com which everyone reading this should also do. Sweetwater provides a free 2 year warranty, appooints you your own service representative, no taxes, free (and fast) shipping, they give it a 55 point inspection once your order comes in, and they also set it up and tune it before they send it out. Right out of the box it was literally in tune and ready to play. Not to mention that they also include a small bag of candy. I paid $399 and no more. Insane how they can still be in business while providing this good of service.
I started playing about 8 months ago with a starter pack that costs about $120. After learning a few things, I wanted to take the next step to buy a real guitar with finished frets that don't buzz and stays in tune. I became a fan of the Tele style after realizing that it is a true guitar player's guitar. It is versitile and simple in design. I just got my new Squier Tele today and I couldn't be happier. I was recommended this guitar by my teacher who also owns one that he carts around for teaching lessons. He said that they are a great find because it's about the best "cheap" guitar you can buy. It has all of the craftsmanship of the Standard (MIM) Teles for about $150 less. This is not in the same class as other Squier lines like the Affinity (which is about $170-$190). This is a real instrument that can match up with much more expensive Fender versions. Being a lefty, it's hard to find a wide selection of instruments let alone a selection of quality guitars that are affordable. This thing plays great right out of the box and sounds terrific. If you want a quality guitar for around $350(There was a $25 rebate in Nov, 2011), this is it.
I'm a beginner guitarist so this guitar was a god step from the unknown brand i started with. The weight and balance of the guitar is very nice. String height and tuning was an issue when it arrived, but most guitars need a proper set up. The neck is smooth and feels great. Pick ups are good and give a range of tones. Good purchase if you are still learning or need a back up guitar.
If you do not earn your living playing guitar, look no further than this extremely well made Chinese telecaster. I'm not sure what factory Fender is using in China, but it is definitely not the one that made any of my kids cheap self-destructing toy sets.
The fit and finish on this guitar are perfect. There is not a single blemish on the finish, and I looked.
It came with an acceptable set up from the factory and was even decently intonated. That said, if you really want to compare it to a more expensive instrument, you should have it set up like a more expensive instrument. I paid to have that done, and it came back from the luthier in perfect set up. I told the luthier if he thought it needed new pickups, that I'd be happy to pay to change them. Honest guy that he is, he told me to leave them be, as they sounded great after some minor adjustments.
Tuning stability is every bit as good as my MIJ strat, and the neck is super comfortable and playable.
The only knock on the guitar visually is that the Indian laurel fretboard is a bit lighter than a traditional rosewood board.
If you can live with seeing "Squier" when you look at the headstock, save yourself a few hundred dollars and buy yourself some lessons with a great teacher. You're playing will be the better for it, and you will love this guitar.
The tone of the 60's classic vibe in three tone burst is okay, the finish is fine and the build is decent. The frets however were very scratchy and seemed unpolished, but I can fix that, the thing that disappointed me most was that the color of the pickguard was an off-white rather than the tortoise shell color in the pictures and all the videos I watched prior to the purchase
I bought this because I never read even one bad review for this guitar. Gorgeous to look at, the tuners held the tuning, the pickups sound fantastic. It was everything I could have wanted without the tele weight and price. These are amazingly good guitars for what you pay. I'm thinking of buying another as a backup.
The Epiphone Custom Pro is $100 more but three times the guitar - this is a high end Squier but cheap in some features like the tuners and bridge. Great sound if you can keep it in tune.
Everything about this guitar is pretty good. I doubt anyone would be disappointed with it. Personally, I am not thrilled with the pickups so I am putting some vintage Seymour Duncan pups in it. But that's just me, I think most people would be happy with this guitar as is. Actually, it's quite impressive considering it's a Chinese made Guitar. I've got a MIM bass and a MIA Strat and to be honest, this Squire is on par with the other two Fenders I have. So cheers to Fender for giving us lefties a sweet little guitar for a nifty price. Go ahead and pull the trigger on this if you're sitting on the fence. 4 stars because I think the pickups are just average - other consider it 5.
As a lefty player(over 35 years) I was pleased to see this lefthanded model hit the market . We lefties have a limited selection of guitars from which to choose . I liked the look of it and in the Utube vids it sounded decent , so i went for it . It is well made. The finish is perfect ,tight neck pocket ,the intonation is good ,acceptable fret job , lovely pups . To me it's as credible an axe as anything Fender sells for under $1100 .
I bought this product and returned it because, as the seller agreed, the item is not mahogany as stated on the page and is not made in China as per the photos of the rear of the headstock but is in fact a newer model made of Nyatoh wood and made in Indonesia. The model advertised ceased production around 2018 in my understanding and so , like myself, buyers will think this is new old stock. I wasted a lot of time waiting for this item to be delivered and then having to contact the seller who initially sent me a return label for which they expected me to pay, then go to a shop to print out a label (at my own expense since the seller has refused to refund my printing costs) and then walk to the post office with the large item to return it. The seller then refunded me minus the initial shipping cost about which I had to complain. The seller has tried to make things difficult at every turn. Despite agreeing that the item is not as described and accepting full liability for the return the seller still has this item for sale. This item should be removed since it is falsely advertised.
Squier Classic Vibe 60s Strat. Very nice rendition of a 60s strat. Pickups and electronics and hardware just fine. Comes with pickup pole pieces already adjusted - nice touch. Sounds like a dream and plays well! Fret edges are sharp and unpolished, so I will need to pay someone to do a proper fret edge dressing - which is very disappointing. I bought a Squier Classic Vibe Tele that had a perfect setup out of the box, beautifully appointed frets. I’d still buy a Squier Classic Vibe Strat, it sounds and plays better than my 1991 Fender American Standard Strat.
