I have a confession. I'm fascinated by the sociological study called Millionaire Matchmaker. Millionaires shouldn't need help finding a spouse, right? But this show makes you realize that the rich are often too spoiled and self-entitled to maintain a healthy relationship. And that's where Patti really comes in. Sure, she introduces the millionaires to several members of the opposite sex who meet their requested list of requirements (which is often long and shallow at the same time), but the real work usually comes in Patti challenging the millionaires to be more open and tolerant and giving. And, I'm not going to lie, it's also nice to see Patti give the occasional millionaire the tongue-lashing that they so desperately deserve!

I love the sneak peak into the "real" lives of the rich . . . because in some ways, they are much more poor than the rest of us!

I really loathe myself every time I watch this show. However, I also feel better about myself for not being like these people. Therein lies its appeal.

It seems as if money turns dating into a grocery shopping list for rich people: they want looks, a certain type of personality, education, etc., but instead of settling, as regular people do, they demand it; feeling they can "buy" it; and become disappointed when they are unable to find one person who fulfills all those needs. It's as if the money as created a giant mirage of expectation that the perfect partner is available, now that one is rich.

Well, Patty is there to bitchslap that notion right out of them, and insult them, too- which is where it gets entertaining!

I think that is why people enjoy this show. Who doesn't enjoy seeing rich people get insulted, and also, deep down, we all know we are so imperfect.

Sigh. Oh, dear.

One complaint is a technical one. The streaming was repeatedly interrupted to reload which could take many minutes while you are staring at a fixed screen. For this reason I only watched this one episode and can't comment on the content of the others. It is an interesting episode as Patti is the client and expresses some vulnerability but remains loud and vulgar as usual.

I have never had problems with playing videos, until now. I bought this video and I cannot even enjoy it. I've tried multiple times to get it to play and it stops at the same point every time.
