Just finished installing this in our attic (still haven't done the door- that will be another job for another weekend). Took about eight hours over two days. All in all, it's relatively simple to install. However, Warner made it a little harder than it should be with some mediocre instructions and some shortcuts that show cheapness.
My issues:
-The instructions don't provide any labels to help identify the various nuts, bolts, and screws. For example, the instructions call for using 12mm screws in one of the steps but there are three different kinds of screws. It's mildly infuriating to not be able to know which parts are which. It would be very valuable if there was one page of the instructions that listed all of the hardware (with life sized pictures) and labeled them.
-The rubber pads for the legs are pretty hard and tend to slip on my floor. The pads should be a softer compound to reduce slipping.
-The ladder mounts to the attic floor using "L" shaped brackets. The screw holes are pretty close to the ladder body and it's difficult to get a drill in there to turn the screws. I suggest buying bolts to replace the screws. Then you can use an extension on the drill to get at the bolts. Screws are also prone to stripping, bolts are a safer bet.
Hints that may help others installing
-Measuring the width of the ladder from the outer edges of the "L" shaped brackets is almost exactly 15" (see picture). I had some unique issues with the mounting area for my attic, and this information would've helped me figure out if the ladder would work for me.
-The template for the assist arm isn't very good. I recommend only using two screws to install the assist arm, then checking to see if it lines up properly with the ladder.
