I have a 2006 Toyota Highlander and when I went to install this my first thought was "uh oh, it doesn't fit because the bars to my headrest are really thick. And when I unscrewed the nob, it seemed as if it had reached its maximum width. Well instead of giving up like possibly the 1 Star guy did, I examined the device and tried a few things. Tip - open up the part that goes around the head seat as much as possible. This puts pressure on the nob that screws it to tighten the device. By putting pressure on the nob, the nob will actually UNSCREW A LOT making it much wider than if you do not do this. So if you just unscrew the nob to where you think it's done, it will give the perception that it doesn't fit your car.

I'm no engineer - and I am a woman - and I figured it out. Bummer you didn't try a few things because I'm pretty sure unless the diameter of your headrest bars are like 3 inches, it will work perfectly. It literally took me like 3 minutes to install.

I WILL AGREE THE INSTRUCTIONS SUCK and do not go into detail, but sometimes you gotta think outside the box when it comes to One Size Fits All devices.

Hope this helps anyone who read the review about it not fitting and you purchase this - you won't be disappointed.

We bought this to hold out tablet for the kids in the backseat. It was one of the only mounts I found that would get closer to the middle of the backseat so both kids could watch. It doesn't get all the way there, but it is very adjustable so it can be moved for both kids to see. The only thing is that with this placement, it is practically right behind the driver's ear, so I bought a headphone splitter with adjustable volume for each output so we could set a reasonable volume on both kids headphones. This mount was easy to assemble and install, took about 2 minutes to figure it out and get it in place. Highly recommend for the price, versatility and adjustability!!

I got this to allow my daughter to watch movies in the back seat of our Passat on road trips, rather than installing headrest monitors or having a DVD player sit on the center console. This mount connects to the front seat headrest post and holds the arm and Kindle securely enough (not much bouncing on rough road) so she can watch her stuff without having to hold the Kindle. It'll work with other devices too, but we only have a Kindle. So far, it hasn't slipped down or loosened any of the screws that hold it in place. The entire mount can quickly be removed with the one big round screw you can see in the picture, or you can remove the holder section and replace it with one for a phone if needed, so it's somewhat future proof incase we decide to get a different device.

I originally got this for our Kindle fire HD 8.9 and we actually use it in our van for our portable dvd player as well. I like that I can turn it out of the way when not in use or when getting in and out of the car. I love that it is adjustable so we can use it for many devices if wanted. I will say the directions are horrible on figuring out all of the ways that you can adjust it, but after playing with it for about 10 minutes you can figure it out. Also the price could be lower.

As far as this product goes it is sturdy, well built, and holds just about any tablet you have PLUS case, tightly. I have it on a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 with otter box case and it tackles it no problem. The issue isn't with the product but with today's car seats. The position of the headrest on my Enclave and Aura do not allow for this to be attached because they simply don't go high enough. Older cars with more classic headrests and my Silverado it works good on. But if you know this product will work with your car, you will not be disappointed, it is a very good product.
