Purchased this hard drive dock. Works good. My friend told me not to buy hard drive dock @ fry's because that one doesn't work well on Macs and he had tons of problem with that one. I listed to him and purchased this model that was highly recommended by my videographer friend who went thru several of them.

I didn't have any USB 3 docks or enclosures with UASP support when I reviewed the 15-inch model, but I've since rectified that with the help of our friends over at HighPoint. The secret to the 5122B is that it has two dedicated USB 3.0 ports, one for each SATA connector. I then created a software RAID-0 array in OS X and measured average performance of around 650MB/s. Peak performance remained just over 700MB/s.

Works great only problem I have is that it has the 2 white USB3 cables almost molded together. Works with one cable if you don't need to use 2 drives connected in there but you can't separate the 2 cables they're labelled 1 + 2 wish they were 2 separate cables, instead they're molded together..
Works great with the Syba USB3 card I bought from Amazon.
Also had no problem plugging it into the USB3 hub in my Asus montor works on USB3 no problem.
It has vents at bottom of the dock to get rid of any heat.

Attached hard drives do not spin down ever, even after unmounting. Drives are sitting there, red hot, 100% of the time.

There is no on/off button to shut it off, either. A waste of energy and money and potential damage to your drives and data.

I inquired with customer service as to why there was no spin-down even after the USB cable is unplugged and they said "because the power cord is still attached."
