I bought this as a gift for my sister, a fellow Whovian. The teapot is modest in size - enough for two people (or one tea-gluttonous sister). The details are wonderful. The "Pull to Open" sign is fully legible, and the paint on the "box" itself isn't just a matte blue; there are shadings and highlights all over it. I'm very pleased. I bought her a TARDIS mug last year from ThinkGeek, and everything but the lid was shattered when I received it. I was concerned about this one as well, since it was also made by the same manufacturer (licensed by BBC). Fortunately this tea pot isn't broken, but the styrofoam is completely broken, and I had trouble putting it back in the box. I'm going to have to make sure my sister knows to be careful when opening it. I know the breaking occurs during shipping, but the problem seems to be in how the manufacturer packages it. My advice: if you're buying this as a gift, buy it early within plenty of time to exchange for another if it's broken! I also recommend buying the TARDIS mug as it also comes with a little lid, so if you ever break the tea pot lid, you can use the mug's lid. :)

Bigger On The Inside? Indeed!
The lid sits a little wonky which I should have expected from a ceramic tea pot, but really didn't think about. It isn't terrible ... was just unexpected. However, if pre-heated with hot water (which you then discard) prior to pouring in your boiling tea water, it keeps the tea warm for a good amount of time. It holds slightly more than 2 cups worth (really depending on the size of your cup, I suppose... mine was average sized). Don't try to pour into your cup too fast as I managed to tip it so far forward in an attempt to rush the pour, I ended up pouring tea out the lid .... TWICE! (Slow learner, I guess). It was well packaged and arrived safely in one piece.... OK, 2 pieces technically (lid & pot) but unbroken. The glaze is nice, I don't mind hand washing, and I would dare say it *is* bigger on the inside as I filled it twice the one time I used it but never emptied it! You will need to use teabags or a loose tea infuser as there is no screen or loose-leaf receptacle inside. I was not disappointed and will use it again and again as it was nice to have it on my desk while I worked, saving trips to the kitchen for another cuppa.

I bought my teapot from "THE BT GROUP" with prime shipping simply because I didn't want to wait a month to get it from "Real Merch UK" and I wanted the service of Amazon Fulfillment. So I can't speak for this company but the one I received from "THE BT GROUP" was in perfect condition aside from the box which was a bit beat up, but that's fine with me because the teapot was perfect. It was a tad smaller than I expected but again not a big deal, and the color/detail was excellent. It feels very sturdy and great quality, I couldn't be happier. I haven't tried my tea in it yet but I am sure it will keep it warm for a while. Just make sure to hand wash it to be safe.
