Parafilm® Grafting Tape is Waterproof, Flexible, Stretchable, and Self-Adhering. Its Breathable properties allows gases such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc. to pass through, and as such offers an excellent breathable moisture barrier. The combination is perfect for grafting which requires a barrier to keep moisture in while allowing oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass through. Parafilm® Grafting Tape is not suitable for Laboratory use or in Areas where Temperatures exceed 54°C (130°F)

Have you ever tried grafting? It is so easy, If you break a limb, cut the end at a slant. Cut another slant in the trunk of the tree, fit the two together and wrap it with this grafting tape. Pretty soon the two will scar together and you will have a healthy limb! I practice putting different colored roses together on one plant to get a mixture. it is so much fun, besides useful. This tape does all the work.

Great product at a great price. This parafilm works great for grafting even for a novice. I grafted several trees this year for the first time and the results were great using this tape. Over 75% of my grafts took on a variety of trees. After bud break, when the grafts were established and growing, the new growth was able to break through the grafting tape which fell off without girdling the graft union or rootstock. Much easier to apply than the wax coat, which I used in addition to the tape.

Boy did this make grafting a whole lot easier. Too bad it can't improve my technique! Oh well, it's a matter of learning and keep on trying. I am glad I bought this parafilm grafting tape because it has helped me keep the cleft grafts I made together snugly and still let the graft breathe and grow. I have done five thus far. Of my first three with the parafilm didn't take -- my beginner technique, not the film. But one is growing ( I think it's the graft or the stock is growing) I've done two more, and I hope each one is better than the other. What I like most about this film is you can make a tight graft and not worry about your grafted area getting wet, too much heat, not being able to grow through the tape or getting bacteria in (unless you don't clean your tools with alcohol). If my graft I think takes, I will be updating with photos. This roll of tape arrived well packaged, individually so I didn't have to buy far more than I needed and it shipped fast especially for free shipping. There were even some helpful instructions with pictures (more helpful than words!). I recommend and would buy again.

I recommend this for several reasons.
1) It is very flexible so it grows with the graft for the first month or two. I suggest removing it as soon as the graft is solid though.
2) After you remove it when the graft is solid, if you unroll it from the graft it make a great stretchy tie to hold the grafted scion to the trunk or a support stick in case high winds tear off a perfectly good healing graft. I made 10 grafts and 4 bridge grafts this year to repair damage caused by mice and voles. All 10 grafts took and 2 of the 4 bridge grafts. I am fairly new to grafting so that is not too bad. The grafts are growing so fast (all on apple trees) that I believe they will pass up the trees nest to them. Great product. I highly recommend it if your not checking your grafts every day. I have seen vinyl tape kill trees, this does not.

We ordered this after searching Home Depot top to bottom for something like this ( the garden people did not even know what it was ). I used it to graft branches onto a mango tree. It has a good stretch to it and holds well. It seems to hold up well even in the wind and rain. There is 30 yards on the roll and it is 1 inch thick.

The tape wraps nicely and makes a tight seal. I used it to graft two jujube trees that had been girdled by rabbits. None of the grafts took, due to some combination of improper scion preparation and poor technique. Somebody who knew what he was doing would probably get good use from this tape.
