Well I made the mistake of quickly scanning over some reviews and upon reading one reviewers comment calling it a "sweet movie" I decided to rent as I'm so tired of trying to find a movie without guns, violence, foul language, nudity. For some reason I thought I could sit back and relax with our 11 yr old during this.... WRONG! It includes bullying, alcohol, guns, inappropriate sexual conduct, suicide.... at one point the (2 main chracter's) old man asks a young boy why isn't he "porking" girls yet cause that what he did at his age???? WHAT??? I really found nothing sweet about it and definitely not for young kids to watch.

NOT worth watching... poor subject matter, not family friendly, strip tease that a young boy watches....ridiculous and foolish and NOT for family entertainment.

I thought this might be a very boring movie, but decided to take a chance. Glad I did. This was very entertaining and exceeded my expectations. It is a very straight forward yet hearthwarming story, and will make you smile, and maybe shed a tear here and there. Great actors and story.

This movie is depicted as a family movie but is not officially rated. According to Amazon's customer service, the "NR" rating that means it's appropriate for all ages -- most likely TV quality -- and the description of the movie suggested that as well. However, this movie is not wholesome. Foul language, raunchy conversations, and adult content. We sat down with our young son and college age daughter to watch this and like us, they both wanted to turn it off.

Crude language and narrow topics. The humor was distasteful. This movie tends to marginalize the military and religion, some subtle yet obviously intended political statements. I would not recommend this as a family movie.

Good family fun. Guys shooting guns in the air. Boy helping old guy who drinks and swears a lot to kill himself with a gun the boy gets for him. Old man shoots at woman, narrowly missing her. She takes off her shirt for the priest. Woman tries to justify what she did as a biology lab project. Boy watches woman strip and dance. Boy gets booze for old guy in the trunk of his car, stops to view some nude women pictures. Father lets son pull old drunk around in wagon. Sister helps brother sneak out the window with sheets after finishing her cigarette. Boy climbs tower against father's wishes. Father figures he'll jump the lady's bones at the drive-in since she has been in heat the whole movie like the woman who was stripping for the priest. Good family fun.

Great movie, very different in theme and message from most of what is out there. I thoroughly enjoyed it, well worth giving it a try!

This is about an old guy with a lot of memories and a lot of unresolved issues. He meets up with a (cute) neighbor kid and they form a friendship. The old man and the boy are in cahoots to accomplish a task that is important to both of them, for their own reasons. It's not the best movie I've ever seen, but it's fine for what it is.
