OMG... Whoah, whoah...This is the best chocolate in the world!! No kidding. Hands down! EVEN Better than Godiva. I buy in bulk at Trader Joes and I keep it in the freezer. When ready I break a chunk off..mmm so crunchy. I buy the Dark chocolate bittersweet with almonds one. The trick is to eat it when it's right out of the freezer or fridge. I like mine in the freezer though. Just be careful..you will need to break in small pieces to make it bite-sized. Also, I love the thick size of the chocolate...trust me you won't regret it. Try to buy it at Trader Joe's it's way cheaper..like $5.00 and it's a lot of chocolate. It's huge.
I ordered it because of the Consumer Labs high rating. It is very low cadmium, compared to other dark chocolates (most of which contain cadmium - with organic unfortunately being the worst!) and has lots of flavanoids. Despite being packed in bubble wrap, it arrived somewhat broken, but that was OK with me since I break it up anyway to eat it (it being a 1 lb bar!!).
This is really good dark chocolate at a great price--better if you can buy it directly from Trader Joe's store since shipping is a challenge. Ours arrived slightly melted. Considering the recent heat wave that's not surprising. Plus of course, this needs to cost more than if you bought it from a TJ store because of the shipping cost. Too bad we don't have one nearby.
I and my wife enjoyed the product very much, and have ordered it twice so far. My only complaint is that both times we received the chocolate bars the packaging was horrible. It had just been tossed in with other things I'd ordered and the package was torn open in numerous places. When I contacted the seller I was going to have to send it back to get a replacement which wasn't worth the money spent. At least the chocolate tasted good still.
We love this chocolate and eat it for health reasons. It's dark, it's 72%. I'm good. The problem here is the cost. If you can, go to Trader Joe's to get it because it'll cost you about 6 bucks there. This is just blatant profiteering. Trader Joe's has good COVID safety practices. Masks are required and they limit the number of people in the store at one time. However, I'm just not ready to go there to do my shopping. When I do go it's for chocolate and wine. There ya have it. I wish they were on Instacart.
Ive gotten this bar from Amazon before, and loved its rich creamy delicious taste. This bar has a white powdery covering and tastes stale. Maybe stored too long?
Product arrived perfectly in tact and carefully packaged, unlike another one I bought from a different seller, which was completely melted, misshaped and crumbled
It ain't Scharffen Berger. If you are looking for premium dark chocolate, move along. Slight sour note, no real depth or complexity of flavor. For a cheap dark chocolate fix it will do in a pinch. But if you really appreciate dark chocolate, stick with Scharffen Berger. Or even Ghirardelli's dark chocolate products. Both are much better than this.
