What I received was not an Apple Smart Cover! Instead of the ordered MD970LL/A I received a no-name plastic case, screen protector and rubber stylus. The not-quite-Apple-powder-blue case did not snap around my iPad mini with retina display in a fashion that gave me confidence that it would stay. The surprise extras were nice and the no-brand plastic cover did cause the iPad screen to lock, but shame on the vendor (CheerWing) to advertise an Apple Smart Cover and switch to something completely different.

This is an awesome product! Can always count on Apple! Turns my Mini on/off just as described. I love the different ways the cover can be positioned for easy typing and standing up for viewing videos, movies, etc. It offers great protection for my Mini without adding bulk, which is exactly what I wanted. I also purchased a thin shell for the back that fits perfectly with the Smart Cover! Love the green color too!

Really nice, understated color; genuine product; soft felt lining the inside. I use this along with the Amazon basics clear back cover and it feels sleek and elegant, definitely in keeping with the iPad's aesthetic. I was worried this cover wouldn't provide any protection for the front but it adds a sturdy layer over the screen, and I will definitely feel more confident slipping it in my bag than without it. I've previously used one of those military-grade super-protective covers, which was too clunky and grippy, and one of the cool (and expensive!) 'looks-like-a-book' cases for this ipad mini, which was similarly clunky and also heavy. This combo of the smart cover plus clear back cover is the winner I'll stick with, for its nice combination of sleekness, lightness, elegance, and protection.

Way too much money for something that didn't work after 3 weeks! All it is is the front cover (as you see) so it protects your screen (ok, I can live with that). HOWEVER, the magnetic strip (this is how it holds on to your Ipad then folds back)... JUST QUIT working! I mean it will NOT even hold on to the IPad... so basically it is worthless!

I have the pink Smart Cover and the red Poetic thin shell back- together, they're keeping my mini safe. The outside of the Smart Cover (made of polyurethane, I think) gets pretty grubby looking. I've cleaned it a few times with alcohol wipes, and once with a little bit of dish soap on a damp paper towel. The only thing still stuck on it is a spot where a bug got squished (gross, I know) while I was using it outside about a week ago.

The cover folds easily, and stays folded into a triangle to support the mini. But, since it's such a small triangle, it doesn't hold the screen up at a very steep angle- it's not perfect, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for an ipad small and light enough to fit into my pocketbook!

I bought this for my iPad mini. The cover has zero functionality. The magnets are not nearly strong enough; they also do not align properly on the iPad mini, which caused the cover to detach anytime I had lifted it to use the iPad. It was frustrating to stand the iPad Mini up to watch video too, because the weight of the iPad again caused the cover to detach when acting like a stand.

I bought it because of the reviews, and the reviews are very positive. The reviews I read state that it is just like Apple's iPad Mini cover, but at a lower price. My experience is that while it looks like Apple (it even comes in a nearly perfect knock off Apple Box), it simply does not work at all. It's an aesthetic match with zero functionality.

My wife bought me a real cover from Apple to replace this, and the functional difference is striking. Clean alignment, strong magnets, and detaches properly.

I do not recommend buying.
