This shock mount/pop filter mates well with my AT2005 dynamic mic. The pop filter component is a dead ringer for the one often seen with Electro-Voice and Heil mics, but try getting that filter for 16 bucks...not gonna happen. Just be reasonable in your expectations. Take care threading it to your mic boom. Be careful easing your mic past the rubber bands which are very tight (watch out if your mic has any sharp edges around its base). But once you have it all assembled and mounted, it is a sleek and good-looking setup. It eliminates plosives perfectly. Prior to this I used a traditional large (6") fabric pop filter on a gooseneck arm that clamped to the mic boom. Adjusting it was always a hassle. It was also so large that if I had to read from notes or a script, it interfered with my line of sight. This CISNO setup solves those problems completely.

My one and only gripe with this item is the color of the ring and the thumb screws. Gold? If it came in black it would be a lot more pleasing to the eye and fit in better with my other gear. That's just my subjective opinion but it would be good to have a choice of colors. Still, I have gotten used to it. I see a lot of podcasting gurus are using this item so that is also a point in its favor. This is a piece of studio gear I'm happy I found.

I really can't believe this thing was like $12. A combo shock mount/pop filter all in one, for this price is unbeatable.

Is it perfect? For $12 yes, yes it is.

I'll talk about the three pieces separately

First the 5/8 threaded mount that connects to your mic stand or boom arm - The threads are metal, not plastic, The angle of the mic is adjustable and it has a nice thumbscrew to loosen / tighten that. The thumbscrew has metal components as well.

Next, lets talk about the pop filter.
It worked fine for me - my test is always to blow on my hand directly, verses with a pop filter in between and confirm the filter disperses the wind energy This one worked fine. It uses a fine metal screen (And I mean super fine, this is not screendoor/window screen material!) Metal screens are nice, Fabric tends to get wonky.

Next lets talk about the shock mount.
It feels barely big enough for the Audio Technica 2100 mic I have, but it works - the mic is held in place by 4 "rubber bands" - the package came with 4 extras, which is good because you have to stretch them quite a bit to get them on - None have broken yet, but it felt Like I was really pushing it when putting them on.
The shock mount works as expected and some light mechanical taps to the stand were not picked up by the mic.

If there was any 'weakness' to this whole thing, it's how the pop filter attaches to the shock mount - Those little brass things you see in the picture are pretty small, and remarkably, they screw into a brass fitting in the plastic - so even here you don't have to worry about stripping the threads. that said, the holes drilled through them are just barely the right size to fit the bar through, so it takes a minute of fiddling to get it working.

In summary, as I said in the beginning, for $12 this is an outstanding value and you should buy this right now.

Seriously, I'm a voice over actor and was looking for a SMALL pop filter for a shotgun mic. The one I had before blocked the screen and the only other option I found was $75. I decided to give this shock mount & pop filter in one a try. My mic is a rode ntg3 (similar to a 416) if you place the pop filter only through the first screw clamp, this baby works like a dream! The price is amazing too. Thank you!

There are elastic bands that hold the microphone in place, so it can easily fit a variety of sizes. I love how there is an angle adjuster so I can change the angle of the stand and lock it into place. That alone made the purchase worthwhile. It is much better than the clip on wind screen I purchased, if that one was worth the hassle of returning it, I would. The price is incredibly reasonable, $15 for a windscreen and a universal microphone clip? Take it and run.

A shock mount AND a metallic windscreen? Awesome. This thing works great, unlike all those horrible fabric windscreens with the flexible arm...I freakin hate those. This mount/screen can also be stored with the mic while still in the stand, just make sure the head of the mic is pointed up so it doesn't get pulled out by gravity. If you have a recording studio, then you would do well to purchase these little bad boys.

Microphone clip is threaded poorly. Nearly stripped the threads on two of my mic stands trying to attach this thing -- and yes, I've flipped the adapter around and made sure I was using the correct side. Cheap Chinese build quality. I ended up Frankenstein-ing a previous mic clip with this one, and it works like a charm. The shock mount is great, does its job well. I have not experimented with the pop filter as I opted for a foam ball instead. I do appreciate the detachable/removable pop filter.

This is probably not the set up you want if you are moving your gear all of the time or you do not use hard cases to do so.
I needed something fast to fit my AT 2100's for the field. I really had no expectations that these would be the ultimate answer but so far they have held up to my abuse. I am sure that I will have to solder the rod to the filter brace someday but until then I have no other need to look elsewhere.
I had read a review that stated the rubber bands broke pretty quickly and I did snap on on the first day but there were an additional 6 included in the package so no down time.

Shock Mount Works Great - Little Bit of Work to Get it to Work with the Neewer Boom Arm

I bought this item with the Neewer boom arm and it is fantastic. However, I will point out that Amazon suggests the Neewer boom arm with it, and this shock mount doesn't even come close to fitting it. I had to unscrew the screw from one of my other mic clips, then do the same to the mic clip that is attached to this shock mount. Then screw the shock mount into the bottom portion of a mic clip that fits the boom arm.

Works perfectly with the ATR 2100.

Started using this setup for podcasting and the shock mount has improved the audio quality immensely. It did take about a week to arrive.
