I have been studying Yoga and meditation for the last 38 years. This book is a GREAT addition to my studies and helped me understand some of the Eastern teachings, i.e., about how we allow our minds to flit alll over the place and spend, spend, spend engergy that tires us out; the time spent for useless thinking could better serve us, could be better spent, like, to make some contribution to oneself or something else. The second or third sutra of The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali states that for an aspirant to excell, one must get CONTROL of the "chitta" (word sounds like s*** and constantly spinning thoughts are s***) of the mind. We have a mind and WE are not only the mind. There is a consciousness that propels the mind, is the engergy behind the mind, our true selves. This book helped me see how VERY powerful a small thought can be. I started to more carefully monitor my thoughts after reading this book. I really liked it!
I haven't had this much lite fun in some time. Speedy intrigue and some spiritual ideas that are kind of so-so regarding enlightenment (not really fleshed out enough, that part). Keeps you turning the pages. I can see this book made into an entertaining Hollywood-ish movie. In face I've got the perfect actress in mind to play the heroine''s best friend, who sounds like she'd be very funny on-screen. One beef - heroine''s constant stunned-in-the-headlights responses wore a bit thin after awhile.
I liked the story, which is a way for the authors to put forth the message that the world (in reality) is on the verge of a 4th awakening. I can't say I care for all of the ideas. The authors feel that awakening is value-neutral, which I can see the point of. However, without doing something useful to help others, I would not consider a person advanced at all, but rather moving backward.
You GOT ME from the first paragraph right through to the end. Love the Vegas scene and the premise. It's reassuring I can attain enlightenment without becoming what my ego considers being perfect. It is also assuring that in trying too hard, I may be keeping what I want at arms length. I love the premise for the books and how this unfolded to gently capture me into the new adventure. The learning is fun and easy, the story well told, the ideas absorbing and teaching loving and gentle. I wanted the book to go on and on and am so happy I can just click the store button on the kindle app and the new book was at my finger tips. Thank you for the good read and keep me absorbed.
I have read the trilogy by Rod Pennington and Jeffery Martin so I had a certain expectation that this would follow suit. I was way wrong. I'm still not sure what it was supposed to be? It's not a book, it's not a short story, and it's not diary....Maybe I'll go back and read it again since it was so quick and it's forever on my phone and ipad!
Kind of a reminder of the real novel. I love the 2 books. Big believer in the power of the mind. But I do agree with revierwer Crasira it seem a bit a a gimmick for money, again not a lot of money but still. For new reader, download the god formula and the fourth awakening. Now, that s impressif.
This was ok. But more like a textbook at times. Haven't decided if I am going to read the next books. The theory does according to their view & facts as presented might have some truth but all theories can be proven if looks rd at the right way.
