Before I got this guitar, I purchased a classical "starter" package that had crazy good reviews on Amazon. I have been playing guitar on and off for a few years but I would still classify myself as a beginner. In addition, it was my first classical guitar. I was extremely disappointed with the starter package (Yamaha) guitar. Chords sounded awful, and subtle chord changes, such as cadd9 to g were lost in the deep, bass sound. I understand that classical guitars are mainly for finger picking, but I need a guitar that can do both.

Enter Ibanez AEG10NII; double the price of the Yamaha, but so incredibly worth it. It is nice and compact, (I am a 5'7 female, 140 pounds and it feels great). The finish is absolutely gorgeous; the picture doesn't do it justice. Google images will show you that it is more orange in color - it is "tangerine" after all. This guitar is not only a beauty to look at, it sounds great - chords, fingerpicking, whatever. With the built in tuner and included guitar cable, this baby sounds great plugged into my little Pignose amp. This is just my opinion but I think this guitar is perfect for women who have a little girly side to them. The deep orange color, abalone rosette and pearl tuning keys - it's just plain pretty. It also has fret inlays/markers while most classical guitars do not. It is just superior to the starter package in every possible way.

I am so happy that I put down the extra cash. If you are serious about learning guitar, do not get a starter package. Go out to Guitar Center (where I first played this one) and try a few out. Get a guitar that sounds and looks great to YOU. Don't limit yourself to a starter; get a guitar that can keep up with you as your skills develop. Best of luck.

    Pros:
Like any Ibanez it’s a solid value for the price
    Tuner is very convenient
Action is low and plays very smooth
Thinner body and very light weight
    Sounds good when plugged in
    Nice appearance
Had it a couple of years, durability seems solid

    Cons:
The thinner body just doesn’t provide a nice rich sound when being played unplugged. More of a practice guitar

It was shipped in a flimsy cardboard box. Wasn’t even sealed when I got it, no padding inside. I honestly have no idea how it went through the shipping process without being damaged. When I saw it on my front porch I assumed it would be destroyed inside... but not a scratch. 🤷🏼‍♂️ But beware. I think I got really lucky.

Eh, I've seen better in the price range but she still plays better than most in the price range. It wasn't anything to be impressed with. Why the hell are you reading instrument reviews on Amazon? That's not the kind of purchase you make online. Go let your kid choose something from Guitar Center so they can pick it out by how it feels in their hands, although you should really think this through before you make a mistake that could mean you have to spend the rest of your teenagers guitar playing days listening to Wonderwall.

Since I received this guitar I cannot put it down. I have 11 varius types of guitars from acoustic and electric..(Godins, Ovations, Epiphones.etc. However, I wanted a light nylon string guitar near me all the time to help me for some composing and to practice whenever I had a minute or two. All I all buying this guitar was an excellent idea and a great purchase for my needs. The sound may not be comparable to a very expensive classical guitar but it is close enough for me. I like the mellow sound and great action. I did not have to adjust the neck or any other adjustment and was able to play it after a minor tuning. The tuning hardware and the onboard tuner works very, very well.
Not only that it suits the purpose and reason I bought it is very, very beautiful guitar. It is difficult to believe for the price I paid. No regrets whatsoever.

Super happy with this classical axe. Been playing it raw and also plugged in for about a week.

The thinner neck with a truss rod allows adjustments, but it came in perfect shape from the Indonesian factory with great action.

The feel is really good for finger-picking Spanish tunes, but equally great for playing rock tunes with a pick. The tuner is slick and easy to use. When plugged in, turning on the tuner will mute the amp. That's a nice addition. The cut-away allows easy access to the 15th fret or higher.

It also has strap mounts on the body.

I'm really impressed with this instrument. My old steel-string Ibanez is in the closet now. Nylon is a lot more fun, since you can do bends easier. Amplified sounds good. Makes me want to start up a new band.

    Vamos a bailar.

This is the best guitar I have owned to date and my 2nd acoustic nylon classical guitar. My first was a cheap hand me down that I had for about 30+years that I used for lessons occasional practice. The AEG10NII is just about perfect unplugged! The sound is exceptional and it comes with very good strings, has a built-in tuner that makes it easy to keep in tune. This is a great guitar for the money and I looked around at other lower priced models and glad that I spent a little extra for a lot more guitar!

Very nice looking guitar, built in tuner was great, however it would not stay in tune after 2 weeks if constant stretching strings and playing it! Have a Taylor 614ce Acoustic that is flawless and stays in tune from day 1...

I love this guitar. Before I plugged it in I loved it. It sounds great and plays great. It has a tuner, which I'm not so crazy about. It has electronic pickup that sounds great. But it plays good. I didn't adjust the neck, just tuned it up. One of the tuning pegs seemed a little loose, but meanwhile it's OK. I'll see how it goes when I change strings. This guitar beckons you ..."Play Me". It has buttons for a guitar strap.
