It's nice to watch a comedy that actually makes me feel like I'm a part of the target audience. Bell's commentary on race in America when the majority of Americans are still not that comfortable talking about racism as much as I would like always makes me think,"Well I'm glad at least SOMEONE is saying it!" I was also pleasantly surprised to find that references to gender and violence are handled with a surprising amount of sensitivity given the norm in stand-up comedy.

The soapbox style pieces by the show's writers are also quite good, to me anyway.

Kamau bell is the funniest unfamous black guy on tv. One of the vanguards of a new school of progressive comedy, this guy is definitely a comedian to watch. The show is a powerful example of cutting edge political and social commentary with one of the best writing staffs on television.

Finally - a proper, more representative member of an under-represented brilliant group of the human race. I really enjoy this show and hope that it becomes a new trend of brilliance in color.

While I'm NOT a fan of the show's producer (professional buffoon and ignoramus, Chris Rock) I was initially apprehensive. Would this be more of that exaggerated, loud-mouthed, jive talking, bugg-eyed coonery that (for reasons completely beyond my comprehension) so many people seem to find funny? I decided to give it a shot and, to my unmitigated relief, found it to be not only hysterically funny, but profoundly insightful and relevant. While Mr. Bell brings a Black perspecive to the show, what he DOES NOT bring is any of the ridiculous caracatures that Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, and their ilk have shoved down our throats for far too long, and that bear no resemblance the majority of Black people.

Keep em coming, Mr Bell!!! (Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, Kat Williams ... pull out your pens and take some damn notes!!!)
