The film is filled with great music, and if you're american you probably haven't heard these artists before. So do you want to explore the music you've seen in the film? Too bad! The film makers don't tell you who's singing! If you've got a lot of time on your hands, you can cross-reference the names on the credits with pics on the internet, assuming you remember what they look like by the time you find them. Really stupid. On top of that, if there's a soundtrack I don't see it available anywhere.

I enjoyed this movie so much. The mix of music genres was very well made.
The most meaningful people from our times participated in this film.
I love the way they talked about Mexican diversity and our idiosyncrasies. It just made me love Mexico even more.

Many perspectives of Mexico explained for some of the most remarkable Mexican icons. The music is quite a delight, This is kind of a very cool documentary, with a very enjoyable rhythm.

Not nearly as exciting as the trailer. The "philosophical points" noted by the other reviewer eventually become preachy and pointless, especially when the viewer is left in the dark as to who the performers and "preachers" are! (Diego Luna may resent that word but when your only line serves to justify cigarette smoking: hey, I'm just not impressed. The world does not needs another Marlboro Man.) The cinematography, people, and music are generally beautiful.

This film portrays most of the insides of what it means to come from Mexico (mostly from a Mexico City perspective). We in the U.S. almost entirely fail to understand the richness and culture of our southern neighbors, and this artistic documentary gives a good glimpse of what that is.
Uniquely beautiful, and creatively filled with poetry, music, spirituality and politics, of what keeps Mexico so VIBRANT, OFTEN BACKED ONLY BY ITSELF AND THE PEOPLE RESIDING IN THE COUNTRY.

It's amazing how despite so much difficulty from the North, and so much loathing from its Central American neighbors, leaving Mexico often standing alone…, it is able to firmly carry on with its roots and culture without succumbing to external influence.
