Works Great With My Police Scanner

Like others have stated, this works great with Police Scanners (I have a BCD536HP) connecting to the MARCS system in Ohio and I would imagine other digital trunking systems. It also has greatly helped with, and almost but not completely eliminated simulcast distortion. I used to get a fluctuating signal, but now it’s a steady 5 bars. I’m about 14 miles from the tower and 60 feet lower in elevation. I am using this indoors near the ceiling of a 1 story apartment.

Highly Recommend For 800MHZ Trunking Systems

Purchased the antenna for use in the high 700mhz thru 800mhz bands on digital trunking scanners. My local system has 4 simulcast sites two of which were receivable with as back of unit dedicated 800mhz omni antenna, be it marginally. PWith this yagi, ointed at at either site, I measured roughly 9dB of gain over the 800mhz omni and, more importantly, noise levels dropped by over 10dB. As any good ammeter radio operator will tell you S/N ratio if the real game when it comes to receiving marginal signals. Build quality seems ok - although i don't have a need to mount it outdoors.

If multi-path or low signal strength are your receive issues, in the 800mhz band, then I can highly recommend this product especially given the low price.

FCC Amateur extra here. I give it two stars because it's resonant at 50ohm from approx 800-900mhz. Not even close for anything outside that range. Your feedline and type N connectors will cost more than this junk. Too bad it doesn't work as advertised. Nothing out there is going to match a 40:1 SWR or remediate a 0db RL. Going back to Amazon.

Not a lot of gain (about 4-6db over an omnidirectional) but not a lot of $$ either... Boosted the input to my Alfa Camp Pro WiFi repeater from -61dbm to -55 to -57dbm and increased isolation between input and output yielding a quite noticeable increase in throughput. (Update) failed after four days of light drizzle with a signal drop of 20+db over the stock Alfa vertical stick...
