This is a small unobtrusive film that tells a story about a woman who is married, but still thinks about an old (high school) flame. When her marriage is starting to feel boring and her husband and her are both changing she decides to explore the past and her other options. The smaller roles in this film really steal the show - her family: mom, dad, and an alcoholic brother with some emotional issues make this film well worth the watch.

40-ish Emmie 's well-off hubby loves her, she owns a thriving pet care business in NYC, she escaped her small town Maine life, but the thrill is gone and the "what if?" has set in as she considers whether she took the right road in her marriage. Similarly, her younger brother Brandon is back at home with the parents with bad case of alcoholism, self-pity and the same questions as to how he missed the boat somewhere and will he ever get back on track. And finally, Emmie's high school love, Jason, is still a waiter and hoping to make it as an artist after many years "perfecting his craft" painting FROGS. He is happily stuck in his local pond, including carrying a torch for Emmie to the detriment to any new relationship and depending on the "Bank of Dad" to let him live his dream. Emmie decides to return home to see if she can recapture the romance that is missing from her life. This movie covers well-travelled ground, plot-wise, however all the actors bring such warm, engrossing performances to their characters that I was fully caught up in their lives . When the movie ended, I really wished I could see into the future for each of the characters to see how it all turned out. Definitely worth a watch.

Overall, I enjoyed this movie. It's sort of a dark comedy but with a good dose of comedy and not overly dark. There were a few lessons....issues such as "abandoning" your marriage, reconciling the past with your present, being satisfied with what you have, taking our love for granted, wanting more than you already have and not knowing why. There was a speech by the dad that should be used in every marriage counseling session. But the movie wasn't preachy...it was entertaining throughout.

This movie is not action packed nor a sweeping epic instead it takes a look at the subtle disappointments that come with real human relationships and our human tendency to question our choices when life doesn't turn out like the movies.
Basically. a woman at 40 looks back, goes back and I'll leave the rest for you to uncover.
My husband would have fallen asleep, but that's ok because I wanted to sneak off with her and see how everything turned out. I am glad I did. Nice movie

See Girl Run is an indie film that gets to the heart and soul of the matters of life- naming the what ifs. I think we can all relate to the main character's question of where is her fairy tale. The movie has the best last scene ever of any movie. Nate Meyer wrote and directed something special and the cast has a great performance by Jeremy Strong, the always good Adam Scott and one of the most underrated actresses who is magnificent here, Robin Tunney.

This story has been told many times and in many different ways. I suppose we never forget our first love, even if it was in high school or college. But few of us leave our family with the express purpose of pursuing it to the possibility of a divorce or at least an affair. Thats the impression we have when this wife of 4 years leaves without telling her family. One would expect things to develop quickly when she returns but it doesn turn out that way. Instead of jumplng in head first, she waits, almost as if she is having second thoughts. And thats the essence of this movie. Does she go to him? Have an affair with him? Leave her husband? I wont spoil it, you will have to see for yourself.

See Girl Run is a very interesting film depicting interpersonal relationships between men and women. It's a typical the grass is greener on the other side of the fence type story. The wife is bored with her husband. She looks up an old high school flame only to find out he's not much better. So she ends up staying with her husband.
