Love me, love my food, a simple rule for life. Amy (Heather Graham) lives in a delusional world where she has her own TV cooking show which openly equates food with sex. Her boyfriend Fred (Kevin Dillon) doesn't share in her compulsion and makes the mistake of openly loving his rare African parrot more than her food. The police (Joe Mantegna) is investigating the disappearance of the neighbor Saffron (Carrie-Anne Moss). Amy claims she knows Saffron, but clearly what she relates to the police is not the reality. Saffron is an actress who has fallen on hard times. Amy cooks for her not realizing Saffron is a closet bulimic, well not actually a bulimic in that she doesn't binge eat.

The film has great scenes of Heather's cleavage, cooking food and relating it to sex, eat your heart out Rachel Ray. Outside of that, the plot displayed weakness. You have a basic idea where the story is going to lead, just unsure how it gets there. Good character portrayals, unfortunately the script didn't measure up. The film is classified as a drama/thriller but is more like a hit or miss dark comedy.

Worth a rental for quirky indie style film lovers.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex. No nudity.

This is a strange movie, and you realize it right away. Heather Graham's character Amy is twisted, and she lives in her own little world. a fantasy world. She thinks she is going to be the next Food Network celebrity chef. Her obsession with food and cooking becomes too much for her fiancé. He can enjoy a good meal as well as the next guy, but she takes it way too far. So, despite her over-stated sexiness, he splits. And after he leaves, she starts getting close with her neighbor, morbidly depressed, anorexic/bulimic Saffron, a former child star. These two women are both extremely mal-adapted to the real world but in different ways, opposite ways. But, they do form a bond; they do get close; and it is intense. At the end, after they have consummated their devotion to each other, Saffron asks Amy for a favor, to help her with something. They never tell you explicitly what she asked for. But, Amy agrees to do it. And the result is that Saffron disappears. They don't tell you what happened to her. They only give you a hint, and it relates to something that happened early in the film. I shan't say more. So, this is a clever story with a twist at the end that will probably catch you unexpected. Ultimately, it is very dark, very macabre, There is no chance that you are going to love this movie, but you may find it intriguing.

Sadly, I will never get that time wasted watching this movie back. Heather Graham is great in a terrible movie. I recommend you painting the back porch or watching weeds grow in your neighbors lawn rather than spending any time on this movie

I loved the unfolding of what lay beneath that continues to get in the way of life because they don't understand it, or see it without the mirror of another's eyes. They are searching for reflection that is not forth coming because they don't know how to ask for what they don't know they need because all they knew were folks taking what they wanted at the moment without regard for the girls they were hurting. It unfolded slowly as it needed to as a but I can't imagine a guy sitting through it unless a Heather Graham fan and waking up for the last half hour.

Watch this for a voluptuous Heather Graham, but for not much else. All 3 stars are for Heather. Otherwise it's too stagy and strange. This is based on a Korean movie that I've always passed by in my public library, but one which I think I'll try to see to see how it could be done right. Sort of how like The Vanishing was done right the first time in Europe, but lost something in America. Did I mention Heather Graham looked wonderful?

I like Heather Graham, but this film was a bit too quirky and low budget for me. It mainly takes place in an apartment building so you can get tired of the lack of location diversity. The story itself is quirky and the writing is just ok. If you like Heather Graham it may be worth a look. If not then you may want to think twice.

Creepy. It was similar to other classics, but this won't be. I didn't actually click to watch this, but it came on and I watched most of it. It wasn't something I'd watch or recommend. The actors/actresses played their parts well, but the story was too odd for me.

Very strange movie. I turned it off about the time the "chef" grabbed her neighbor and threw her back into her apartment, dispersing rancid food all over the table. This did not bode well for a friendship!
