Used these for years, recommended as well, I’m in the dental field as a hygienist. Here’s what I tell my patients and how I use them-
BRUSH, FLOSS. *DRY YOUR TEETH* PLACE GENTLY. DO NOT PINCH THEM ON FULLY, JUST ENOUGH TO STICK WHEN REMOVING THE GREEN LINER. USE THE TRANSLUCENCY OF THE WHITE TRAY TO GAUGE HOW CLOSE TO MANIPULATE THE (soft, already attached to the tray) BLEACH TO YOUR GUMS!! WASH YOUR HANDS. IF YOUR GUMS BURN USE VIT E OIL AND ALLOW TO HEAL BEFORE NEXT USE. ALLOW 2-3 DAY INTERVALS. IF IT HURTS, STOP. IF YOU HAVE CAVITIES OR GUM INFLAMMATION IT *MAY* HURT TO BLEACH!!
This system is effective and gets results. Yes maintenance is recommended for longevity. Teeth are POROUS, they will stain again over time. I’ve found this to be the best bleaching system next to in office options. Good luck and keep your smile 😃 healthy so your body will be too!

ORIGINAL- I was given some samples of these trays by my dentist in preparation for a front tooth crown. After doing some research, I found them here on Amazon for slightly cheaper than the dentist. The taste of the trays when they are on your teeth isnt that bad at all. It's when your taking them off the texture of the gel kind of surprises you. The first time I used it, I think I may have burned a spot on my gumline(a clump of the gel got wedged right on the gumline). It turned white for a couple minutes but turned to red shortly after (rinsed with salt water the next couple days to help heal it up). Also took a couple days break from the trays. If your gums have sharp-like stinging try to bend the tray down and off your gumline(first couple times you might still get some white spots on your gum, but if you pull it off the gumline right when it starts stinging it stops it from burning it and the white gum spots will go away after a minute or two). Another tip: found it is better not to brush your teeth prior, don't need to irritate your gums and then add hydrogen peroxide to it... Don't be afaid to take a couple days break between trays if your gums are getting sensitive. By the end half of the 10 day set, I didnt have anymore gum sensitivity/ white gum spots. Also with the first few times you might get these weird looking bright white spots on your teeth (middle picture), dont worry its temporary and mine faded over night. Overall im very happy with the results. Happy enough to buy this brands matching Whitening toothpaste (it has a nice mild taste and they also have sensitive toothpaste). And beware it doesn't whiten any fillings. Since the entire front side of my one front tooth is filling(thats the one getting the crown), it did not get any whiter. But it does make a nice color comparison in the after picture (the filling use to match my other teeth quite nicely). My dentist also warned me that I will have to use a tray every couple months to keep up that shade of white and prevent staining in order to match my front tooth crown(whitening results are not permanent, but can keep a nice look with a little upkeep). Otherwise my dentist suggests hydrogen peroxide mouthwash/ toothpaste to help keep up if you want to use the trays less often. Hope my learning curve helps you out.

So far I’ve only used this product one time but I’m so impressed I came to write my review. I will update it with the final results after I finish all 10 treatments. As you can see in my picture, in just one use there is noticeable difference. ( PLEASE ignore my plaque,yes I know it’s awful and I’m in the process of finding a new dentist where I now live to get a cleaning done). I didn’t brush my teeth before using, then after using I did per the instructions. I would strongly suggest only doing one tray at a time. I used both the upper and lower tray at the same time and I felt like a rabid dog. I had SO MUCH FOAM in my mouth. I couldn’t even open my mouth or it would drip out. I was terrified to swallow because I didn’t want to ingest it. I had to go to the sink multiple times to let the mixture drip out of my mouth. I think doing one tray at a time will minimize the excess foam. Normally I’d take away a star for something like that but I think it’s an easy fix to do one tray at a time plus I’m very impressed with how white my teeth got in one use. In the past I’ve always used crest white strips but they never seem to make much difference and I actually had to stop using them because they were making my teeth so sensitive. I didn’t have any sensitivity issues with this product tonight. I am not a fan of fluoride though and wish they did not include it.
