(Eventually) Solid Keyboard

My first Hermes that I ordered had a broken spacebar. I tried to contact Gamdias about it, but their response was slow (4 or 5 days if I remember correctly) so I just returned it to Amazon and they shipped me a new one. Now that I have had a working Hermes for a while now, I can say I really like it.

Pros:
The keys feel good, if a little strange at first given Gamdias' special key dampener they use. Keystrokes are quiet, but still satisfactory in their clickiness.

I love the number of macro keys available for use, and their placement is good so they are easy to reach but accidental contact is minimal.

The wrist rest is phenomenal.

Other than the broken spacebar on the first one I ordered, the Hermes seems to be just as durable and solid as any other mechanical keyboard out there.

Cons:

I was slightly disappointed in the brightness level of the backlighting. The highest brightness level seems to be roughly half of that of my previous Razer keyboard.

The Hera software is mediocre. It's not specifically lacking in any one area, but it's not outstanding in any way either.

Conclusion
My previous keyboard was a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth 2013. I changed to this keyboard primarily because it matched the color scheme of my setup, and I really liked the number of macros available. However, my unexpected favorite feature has been the wrist rest. Its shape and magnetized connection are awesome. The only things keeping this keyboard from a full five stars are the disappointingly low brightness levels and that broken first product I was shipped. Regardless of the cons, I do not regret switching and I would definitely recommend this keyboard to anyone looking for a premium gaming keyboard.

Great keyboard for a gamer 5 STARS

First mechanical keyboard I have owned but I have tried out a number of different brands. I think this is the best one I have used. I give this keyboard 5 stars.

Pros-
Great build quality
Great layout with the lower macro keys.
Pass through ports are good and the music controls nice to have among the many other features like game mode.
The software is pretty good, a ton of options and fairly easy to use; all the things you can add to a macro key are really cool (sounds, mouse tracking, delays, loops etc.) very useful for a gamer.
The wrist rest is handy and at first I thought I needed it all the time as the poster above mentions but now that I am used to the height difference over my last keyboard I don't always use/need it (best for typing papers or something when more relaxed vs gaming when need better reaction and speed. There is no time for being relaxed when powning noobs in League).

Con-
User manual is pretty week but that is the only con I have and its not a big deal; after a few minutes one can figure out how to use the software and create macros and set up user profiles.

P.S I don't have the problem the poster above talks about with having to have the software open to use programmed keys. You dont even have to have it open to create new macros (on the fly macro recording works just fine, however I do find it better to go into the software to create the macros so that I can label them and put then in certain folder (different games/game types)).

This mechanical gaming keyboard was bought to replace my old PS/2 keyboard and Razer Nostromo setup.
I took a chance with no knowledge of this company because this model featured the thumb buttons for the left hand that I was accustomed to from my Razer Nostromo's directional pad and thumb switch.

The build quality is excellent and feels solid and unmovable. I've never gamed on a mechanical keyboard before, so I cannot compare the Cherry MX Blue switches to any other switch feeling. I am quite pleased with the feel compared to my old setup. I play using the stroke depth dampener which is already placed between the switches and key-caps upon purchase. These shallow the depth as well as dampening the sound.

My only problem with this product is the quality of software from the manufacturer. From the product site to the packaging and font choice for the keys, it is apparent that GAMDIAS is targeting hardcore gamers for its products and there was a decision to make the software part of that look. I find the interface much more busy and difficult to navigate in comparison to the cleaner and robust Logitech and Razer product software.

Cleaning the keyboard is quite easy.

After tons of research and YouTube reviews I ended up purchasing this keyboard. I needed the extra keys for steaming and gaming and this layout really caught my eye. Going from a non-mechanical keyboard to a mechanical keyboard took some getting used to but now, after about a week of use, I have to say that I can never imagine gaming without this keyboard. The adjustable lighting is perfect for my office which is very bright in the morning and very dark at night and I love the MX Blue switches. I game 30-40hrs per week so I will definitely be putting it to the test but after about 30hrs all I can say is for the price I can't imagine a better keyboard. I haven't used the software for anything but a few key-binds so I can't really review that part.

Great but clicks annoy my co-workers

Great keyboard with large fonts and nice backlight. However, my co-workers got easily annoyed by the loud clicking sounds from the keys. The Logitech G710+ is much quieter in comparison but sadly doesn't have the same features or font size as this gem.
