Praise for ALWAYS IN TROUBLE:
"Jones's simple but amusing cartoon-style illustrations add up to a solid offering in the naughty-dog division." -KIRKUS REVIEWS

"Whimsical cartoon illustrations make Toby's troublesome and dangerous behavior seem humorous and lighthearted, in the same spirit that misbehaving is handled in such stories as David Shannon's No, David! (1998). Children will delight in Toby's antics." -BOOKLIST

Praise for BRANCHES books:
"These books should be considered for larger libraries wanting to enhance their easy-reader collections." -SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL

"A nice stepping stone to more advanced chapter books." -BOOKLIST

I recently gifted "Moldylocks and the Three Beards: A Branches Book (Princess Pink and the Land of Fake-Believe)" to my goddaughter, and I'm thrilled to share that it was a big hit!

While I didn't read it myself, the sparkle in my goddaughter's eyes as she delved into the whimsical world of Princess Pink and the Land of Fake-Believe spoke volumes. As a gift-giver, there's nothing quite like the joy of seeing a child's imagination ignite, and this book did just that.

From what I observed, "Moldylocks and the Three Beards" is a delightful tale filled with humor, adventure, and imaginative twists on classic fairy tales. My goddaughter was enchanted by the charming characters and the clever reimagining of familiar stories, eagerly immersing herself in their magical adventures.

As someone who believes in the power of books to inspire and entertain, I couldn't be happier with my choice of gift. "Moldylocks and the Three Beards" has earned its place as a cherished addition to my goddaughter's library, and I have no doubt it will continue to spark her imagination for years to come.

I will echo what a lot of other people say here - why are there not more books like this??!! This book is awesome, it has a really clever story full of humor, and it's this gorgeous combination of lots of minutely illustrated pictures and snappy writing that keeps my reluctant reader HIGHLY entertained. I got the first two books in this series a couple of years ago to read to my daughter. I just pulled them back out this week and reread them to my son and my daughter ran in and sat through two books in one sitting. I walked back into the room I had left them hours later and both of my kids had one and were reading them on opposite ends of the couch. These are just about perfection for younger readers. Lots of pictures, not "baby" writing that makes them lose interest, quick chapters that makes a perfect chunk of time for kids with shorter attentions spans. I have already ordered all the books in this series and really, REALLY hope this author does another series like this - he has two really loyal fans!

Have reviewed all of these books. My 6 YO reluctant reader really caught-on with this series: books can be fun and interesting, not boring, as she’d previously thought. She can read these in a single night, sometimes two, as I catch her up giggling, reading with a flashlight under her covers. That’s all that matters to me. Quoting my daughter after reading the first in this series, “I get it now, Momma. I see why you like books.” I’ll take a tired kiddo who has fallen in love with books over a reluctant reader every day. PLEASE write more! Thank you!

The book is one my daughter loves. I got it for her way early. When she opened it 2 pages were falling out and our return is expired.

These are such cute books. I don't normally buy them as we are frequent visitors to the library but these I had to purchase. My daughter is 6 and reading at a 3rd grade level. These are chapter books with pictures but much more challenging than the 1st grade readers. Found that when you get into the 3rd grade level the pictures start to disappear but at 6 years old, she still wants colorful pictures. Wish there were more in the series!

Adorable book! Read this to my 3 year old and she really liked it. The book is a paperback but it has the cutest pictures and a really funny story. Highly recommend for parents who want to teach their kids that girls can be hero’s too.

I wanted something fun to read with my 5 yr old. She can't read it herself yet, but was very interested in the story. The story itself is clever ( a play on Goldilocks & the 3 bears ) & is broken down well with the illustrations. I also liked that there was no bullying & no fighting ( this is surprisingly hard to find in early chapter books ), just a little crazy monster action. I will likely continue the series.

Our daughter started reading this series when she was around 7. Now our 7 year old son picked up this book to read, among others in the series. Both of our kids love these books. They laugh out loud and want to share funny parts with us. These books are great for newer readers.

This is a children’s story book. This book was a gift for my mature eight year old granddaughter. She looked forward to reading it to her sister.
BIG PROBLEM…..on second day. It’s inner sections totally fell apart. The glue holding the sections into a book failed and let go. I would return it but I gifted it across Canada and it wasn’t practical to send it back.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING this series of books. It was gently handled but that didn’t matter. If one book failed I expect any/all books will do the same thing.
Delivery was excellent. Box arrived quickly in great shape. Very happy with the delivery service. But very disappointed in the books lack of quality!!!!!! Think twice before purchasing any of the books in this series.
