Note: I use Rocksmitth 2014 for both electric guitar and bass. I'm not a musician in anyway.

This was my first bass and it is awesome. I took a chance and ordered it sight unseen and the build quality and packaging were excellent. I've had it for six months and it let me get a feel for playing bass after having dabbled in electric guitar off and on for a while. The funny thing is, I started to prefer it to electric guitar. Any instrument you can fall in love with is worth 5 stars.

I knew I wanted a short scale because I have small hands (5' 6"). I now have a very short scale bass (28.6") and that one is easier to play (minus the default strings), but the 30" scale Luna is better constructed with better default strings. (It's OK to have both, right? Such a slippery slope... hehe.)

That being said, I over-turned the volume knob when Rocksmith 2014 was flaking out and now it is just free floating, but still works. I took the back cover off and it is beyond my ability to fix it. It seems simple enough, but I'll get someone a little more knowledge to do it right.

If you're looking for an introductory bass and like the look of this one, go for it. If it's on sale at sub-$200. DO IT NOW.

Great starter bass for the price. I'm a woman so the smaller scale works really well. the design is really good looking. Components are entry level but they work just fine. the sound on the pick up is a bit uneven out of the box, but I haven't had it set up yet. I'm a professional musician, vocalist, guitar player and I'm just learning to play bass so I'm no expert, but I'm really enjoying it. (I also have a Luna concert Uke which I really love)

The frets were sticking out on both sides in the neck the whole way too to bottom. Unplayable unless I wanted to slice my hand while moving it up and down the neck. Technician at local music store said he's never seen a bass this badly or "carelessly" constructed. Buy at your own risk. The design is nice and also unique but beware... this is what I received who knows what you will receive.

The Tat 30 arrived unplayable out of the box. The pickups were so misplaced they were actually touching the strings and the neck was buzz city.

It worked out fine, though. I bought it with the intention of having a tech put in a different pickup and do a full setup, so I just went ahead with my plan. I would have been disappointed if I was expecting a playable instrument out of the box.
That said, with a set-up and the pickups in the right place it's a fun little bass. Not too heavy, well-balanced and a nice-feeling neck. Hardware isn't fancy but does its job.

It arrived as a two-star bass and became a four-star bass, so I settled on 3 stars for the overall rating.

Not a bad guitar. It's fairly comfortable and pays well. The scale is nice. It's quite noisy though compared to my Ibanez Mikro. I expect I'll replace the pickups to fix that. The neck is also wider than the mikro which I'm not fond of. The wood is decent and has a good feel.
