I was a little unsure when we ordered this movie. I just wasn't sure if it would really be something my two and a half year old would pay attention to. It looked like very beautiful animation, and sometimes, honestly, I think she just gets bored if it isn't bright and "super animated" if you know what I mean. WOW was this mama wrong. We received this movie in the mail right before heading out on a car trip that ended up being about two hours- and we watched this movie the WHOLE time. So, about 2.5 times total I guess? She was immediately captured by the fantastic animation, and the well-crafted story. She liked pointing out all the animals, and pointing out when the witch dropped her want "oh no! "and repeating the recognizable "is there room on the broom for me" phrase- which was adorable. She also was very interested in the insert with all the rest of the books by the author Julia Donaldson- and asked if we could "get all of them". We went to the library the next day and she was very happy to find ALL of the books there on the shelf waiting for her. Not only is this a great movie- but a great way to make reading more fun too!

It was wonderful! My children (3 & 5yrs) were already very familiar with the book. This follows the text with no additional text added but the film is still about 25 minutes long. The animation alone adds so much to the story. You learn more about the characters, etc. It is very funny and very sweet....just lovely. I teach 3rd grade and my students loved it also!

My family and I love reading the book and watching the DVD of "The Gruffalo" so we were excited when the DVD "Room on the Broom" which is also by Julia Donaldson was released. In the movie, Room on the Broom, a witch and her cat take a journey on the witches broom. On their ride they continuously lose items which are found by other animals. These animals join the witch and cat on their trip. The cat learns a few lessons on kindness and cooperation. My kids loved that the squirrel and snake from The Gruffalo make an appearance at the beginning of the movie. Adorable movie!

A kind of parody. Those who came in early and are already in the place (or the country) don't want to share it with new comers. And the new comer who has once joined the place resent the fresher new comers. But in the end, when the country is in trouble, it would be the joined effort of all, the relative old-timers and new-comers, that will repel the common enemy and save the country. An entertaining lesson for children and adults.

I watched this movie on Netflix and immediately came to Amazon to buy it. I admit, I have no children but I think children of all ages, even adults will love this movie. It's not that long but it's really cute.

Room on the Broom is a fun animated version of the book by the same name. The witch travels around on her broom with a feline escort. They come upon a dog and a bird who are misfits in their peer groups and ask if there is room on the broom for them. One-by-one the critters join the witch and cat (though the cat is totally against each new rider). To add some additional suspense, there is a fiery dragon looking for the group and it does not have the same kindly vibes as the witch on the broom has.

Kids of all ages will love Room on the Broom. Ii only wish the action lasted longer. Adorable, cute, and feisty and good words to describe this animated short. I believe it won an important prize, but cannot think of the name. Whatever award it was, Room on the Broom deserved to win. Highly recommended. I will be watching this again.

This review is for the animated short based on the book. Just finished watching it with my soon to be 8 year old granddaughter. We both thoroughly enjoyed it - although maybe I did a little more than she, who, I'm guessing, is at the age where she prefers TV or movies with more dialogue and less narration. Anyway, it's a sweet story about a nice witch who accidentally cauldrons-up a dragon. The title has to do with the animal "hitchhikers" she can't seem to leave behind. There's a nice, subtle message about friendship and teamwork.

Stylistically, it's like The Gruffalo.

Scares? Maybe the dragon for the very youngest.

this is one of our favourite stories :-) We think it's a little silly that some words have been changed from the original version to suit the american public (because I don't think it was necessary) but we love both versions anyway. We love the CD that comes with it (ours did anyway) and the little movie they made is also brilliant. I confess that I am still guilty to listening to it in the car even when no one else is with me LOL...all in all everyone in our house still loves this as much today as they did 7 years ago when we first got it...even my 10 year old :-)
