First off, this movie isn't crude. I found it refreshing. If you read the description, and are still considering watching this movie, than it's for you. It's not a great movie, but it's a fun night out with a silly premise. It is mostly forgettable, but you will laugh and smile.

I'm serious when I say the movie isn't crude. There is no sperm in the hair scene like There's Something About Mary. There are no disgusting scenes featuring Ryan Renyolds masturbating a dog into an eclair as in Van Wilder. You won't see a baby chewing on condoms as in the Neighbors. You will not see anything resembling the supposed talent of Melissa McCarthy. In the modern sense, this movie is thankfully tame. That's what makes it special.

It's shocking to say that this movie is weird romance. It has some great lines and some fun. Is it stupid? Yes. Is it really dirty or crude? No. This is what makes this movie great. It's stupid fun with obvious jokes beaten to death in such a way that is amusing. It's not high art. Give it a try. See for yourself.

Tell me what you think?

Also, for those that panned this movie without watching it, what did you expect from a movie where a man's penis takes human form?

If the concept of a guy losing his penis sounds remotely intriguing to you then I guarantee you will love this movie. It delivers all the laughs that the concept sets up and even has a very touching ending (no pun intended). Nick Thune gives the best performance of a rogue penis you'll ever see and Cam Gigandet is just as good playing the dickless lead. If you're looking for a good movie that provides a lot of laughs, this is a great choice

There's a pretty great lesson hidden in this surprisingly cute little comedy about a guy and his penis not seeing eye to eye: Be the kind of person you want to be with.

It's not the only lesson, there's also something in there about being careful what you wish for and not being a jerk in general, but overall, it's a nice movie with lots of Cam Gigandet being the charming scumbag-turned-sincerely-nice-guy we love in these kinds of movies.

Fun cameos from the adorable Jamie Chung also make the movie worth a see. Not to mention it's a movie you can watch with your boyfriend/girlfriend!

So, full disclosure here: I find Nick Thune to be hilarious in pretty much everything, even subcompact car commercials. I also happen to think that Cam Gigandet is an underrated actor with a great natural sense of comic timing, and way more versatility than certain critics seem to give him credit for. "Bad Johnson" pairs these two Seattle natives in a movie sporting an iffy-sounding premise and (let's be honest) some pretty godawful promotional Photoshop work that's not doing the film any favors. But if you can get past that horrifying howler of an underwear pic, you might actually enjoy this interesting little romp. I actually want to give this maybe 3.75 stars -- admittedly, .25 just because the movie is set in my hometown -- but it's a bit like a sophomore frat boy: cute, scruffy, kinda rowdy-funny, and a little more innocent and human than you might assume at first glance. It's better than most of the sludge Adam Sandler has been regurgitating for the past decade, and it's got a sweet side that could even make it a fun date movie (depending on your date). It's even got local Chicago girl Katherine Cunningham as a fiery, quick-witted love interest who seems to get just a little more attractive with every shot, and displays some nice easy chemistry with the lead. So in short, you're seriously NOT gonna remember this in the morning -- but it's a fun 90+ minutes spent with a few easy-on-the-eyes actors who serve up more than a couple amusing scenes.

I actually want to go 3.5 on this one. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if YOUR Johnson got a life of its own? Me neither. But here we have one possible answer...it would be a dog and a nuisance, vindictive and angry and just humorous for the first half of the movie. Cam Gigandet is terrific as Rich and is one of those guys that should be getting more roles...a variety of them, I think he can do it all. Nick Thine is convincing as his well, you know what. As I said it was pretty funny to start then get very serious, deadly serious as a matter of fact. I'm never quite sure how I should react to a comedy/horror, or comedy/drama. Maybe I like it to be one of the other but.....I did like it. The ladies were all terrific too. Get ready for a lot of "Johnson" jokes and Cam's best friend....loved him too.

Rich Johnson (Cam Gigandet) is the type of player everyone of us knows. He allows his little head to do all his thinking for him. Rich makes a wish for his life to change, at which point his "little head" becomes detached and its own person (Nick Thune). Bad Johnson becomes out of control and makes Rich's life miserable creating oodles of symbolism, metaphors and puns.

The overall problem with the film is the juvenile nature of the topic exceeded the comedy. Not as bad as an Adam Sandler film. It did have a few good enjoyable scenes, but overall, the film is just a rental to watch and forget.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity.
