      I purchased the ER25 version of this collet holder.

      The tool presents itself well visually, but the geometry is wrong, and the collet retaining nut requires a special tool. It is not a simple hex as pictured.

      Cone angle for an r8 taper is designed at 16.85deg. This tool measures in at a full 17deg and will only make contact with an r8 taper far down at the widest end of the cone in a thin ring of contact. The insufficient contact and location is a recipe for the holder to slip radially during heavy(ish) use and introduce eccentricity error which will wear your tools unevenly or simply break small ones.

      If you purchase this holder, be prepared to regrind the taper.

      (ER25 version) Noticed a substantial deficiency in R8 taper surface mating; contact appears limited to a very narrow band at the large diameter indicating that somewhat larger than R8-specified included angle has been ground on this tool holder's R8 taper. This renders this seemingly well manufactured product unhealthy for both spindle taper and cutting tools.
