Yanked (Frenched: Mia and Lucas 1.5) Kindle Edition
Going to Paris alone.
Falling for Lucas (he was so not on my list).
We’ve done the long-distance-love thing for eight months now, and I’m ready for more. But after I discover what he’s been hiding, will he stay on my list? Or should I cross him off for good?

These two start out as strangers, but soon find they have undeniable chemistry and dabble in some fun while Mia is in Paris trying to soothe her heart. Lucas brings Mia out of her rigidity for making plans and helps her life in the moment. These two soon find a love like theirs is worth fighting for.
This story picks up eight months after Mia left Lucas in Paris. The two of them doing the long distance relationship thing. Until Mia decides she needs to know if Lucas will ever want more. So she surprises him by showing up unannounced at his apartment. Only the surprise is on her when she finds his ex staying with him. (And she's in a towel)
This forces them both to re-evaluate their relationship and what each of them ultimately wants. Hard decisions, hurt feelings, jealousy and again more of Mia's lists.
We finally get to the HEA that was missing in the first book.
I would not read this one without first reading Frenched. You really need their whole story to enjoy them getting to where they end up.
Yes, there is a little bit of stupid. Of course, there has to be! There has to be something that goes wrong in order for everything to come back and be made right! But the stupid is short-lived, and the book quickly moves onto some quality Mia and Lucas time, and the continuation of the beautiful love story that began eight months ago in Paris
And, oh boy, Lucas delivers! And that’s just the start! Lucas has a dirty mouth, a taste for (mild) kink, and some seriously sensational moves, and holy hell, this little novella is chock-full of hotness! That and swoon. Heaps, and heaps of swoon! And I freaking LOVED IT!
I love these two together! They are so in love, they tease and banter, they’re not afraid of sharing their feelings, and they’re so functional! They have some issues to sort through, and with an external influence adding stress to the situation, it does get a bit nasty, but they sort through it. They talk, they have steamy hot sex, and everything is resolved, leading up to a beautiful HEA that left me sighing with bliss and wishing for a Lucas of my very own.
And there’s going to be more!!! Two more full-length novels in the series (at least). I can’t wait!
Rating: 3/5 stars
For eight long months, Mia Devine has been living her life in Detroit while her boyfriend, Lucas Fournier lives his life in New York. No longer worried about things like inhibitions, Mia has been enjoying some seriously good phone sex and, when possible weekends with Lucas. But Mia hasn’t been able to shake all of her old habits and after eight long months she is once again pondering the future. Knowing Lucas’s feelings regarding the future, marriage and kids, Mia knows she must tread carefully or everything she holds dear will be gone like a skittish rabbit.
In a very un-Mia like moment, Mia buys a plane ticket to New York and shows up on Lucas’s doorstep determined to have a very serious conversation about their future as a couple. Unfortunately, the first conversation Mia gets to have is with Lucas’s ex-girlfriend, Jessica. What a conversation it is: Jessica is staying with Lucas until she finds a new apartment, Jessica is bunking in Lucas’s bedroom, Jessica knows nothing about Mia and, Mia clearly knew nothing about the current cohabitation situation. Needless to say, Mia’s second conversation is with a very surprised Lucas and Lucas is a complete and total ass! Seeing her HEA winging its way right on out the door, Mia follows and Lucas doesn’t.
Alone and heartbroken in a New York bar, Mia all too quickly succumbs to the texts sent by Lucas and shows up at his Gramercy Park hotel room only to engage in zero conversation and some really steamy and totally angry sex . . . .twice. But things still aren’t as Mia would like them to be and after a disastrous night out with some of Lucas’s friends and his ex (oh yes, the ex is there!), Mia goes to sleep determined to have a serious talk with Lucas knowing it may be the end of their relationship.
The Bottom Line: I LOVED Frenched in so many ways and was totally smitten with Mia and Lucas’s story but Yanked rubbed me the wrong way. Lucas is a very dominant man and through everything has had to give up very little where his relationship with Mia is concerned. Mia, on the other hand has changed rather dramatically and been willing to sacrifice her own wants and desires out of a fear of losing Lucas. When Mia shows up on Lucas’s doorstep and things go quickly from bad to worse, Lucas is a complete ass yet within hours Mia is once again succumbing to his will in the bedroom without so much as an apology for his appalling behavior. I totally understand that Mia is head over heels in love with Lucas and wants to be with him but the relationship is far from equal. Yes, I also get that Lucas eventually pulls his head out of his ass and makes things right but for me, it is too little too late. Finally, I found myself disappointed in Mia and that ultimately left me disappointed with the read as whole. With that being said, I am now completely on the fence with having loved one of the books in the series and not so much with the other which means Forked, the forthcoming book in the Frenched series will be the determining factor for me.
When Mia showed up to surprise Lucas and found Jessica at his apartment I wanted to kill Lucas. I mean who keeps that from their girlfriend, or fails to mention to said ex-girlfriend that he had a girlfriend.
But after everything that Lucas discloses to her after they meet at the hotel room, I just fall more in love with Lucas. Because despite all of his fears he is willing to take the leap and go head first into the future with Mia.
And the future between the two of them is looking pretty damn good.

As well as just being the overpriced epilogue to book 1, this had a weak storyline, was strung out and repetitive and has totally put me off the rest of the series and this author as a whole. She's committed the unforgivable for me by putting a book out there as "free", then put what should have been the epilogue to that book, (a couple of chapter's worth), out there for £2.00 and called it book 1.5.
She'd have got a better review, (and a better following as I now won't buy anymore of this series on principle), if she'd put books 1 and 1.5 together and charged the 2 quid in the first place.
Really don't appreciate this tactic by authors and it always makes me walk the other way.
