Not relevant for the kind of pool and people who are playing anywhere around here.. Seems like dated material, and no fluidity in style makes for a slog to get through this short assemblage of mix and match generalizations and observations as seen from the authors perspective. May apply to the kind of places that still look like they're straight out of the movie "The Color of Money", or Las Vegas/ Reno during the finals of league play, but nothing for the modern, serious player.

Not one thing taken away from this that anyone could actually use in the pool halls and bars that I have been in (unless you're into getting your butt kicked out the door and possibly even kicked in the literal sense), and I've been going in public houses and shooting pool since before I could see over the table. There's some interesting tales of games gone bad though, so not a total waste of time

Slender tome about how to keep the table once you get your chance. No "sharking" techniques that I'd never run across, most of them quite mild compared to what happens in pool rooms all over.
