We certainly recommend Anarchy in the Monarchy as a stimulating game for a family or large group gathering. It was repeatedly enjoyed by all. Especially the boys, who are usually very opinionated in what they agree to play, really rallied to this game, and "let's play it again!" was heard. (Ecume has become a household term.) Anarchy in the Monarchy truly is a fun, fascinating way to ponder this colorful period in world history.

This is one of those games that takes 5-10 minutes to learn, but a longer time to really master the game. This game says 10 and up, and for groups of 4-10. There are different rules to follow depending on your group size. I like that you don't have to have a large number to play, but at the same time it's a great game to have everyone involved together. The kids like that they can be part of the game with us, and their grandparents too.

The cards are great quality too not flimsy, and haven't bent after multiple shuffles. The one and only thing that I would say I don't care for is the box. The opening is on the small side so you have to stack the cards in two piles. If you don't get them even the box won't close correctly. That being said the box is made with good quality too. hasn't ripped or anything like that on the hing from opening and closing.

Lately, I have been trying to get my kids to be on less screen time throughout the day. It's winter, so that has been a little bit of a difficult task here lately. I have been trying different and unique games they have never played before to keep them occupied. When I saw this card game, I knew I wanted it for us to play.

Anarchy in the Monarchy card game is definitely a unique and very different game... in a good way. I have never seen a game quite like this one before, and neither had my kids. It arrived in a manila envelope with the game inside. The game was sealed with plastic to ensure no one had tampered with it. It was really easy to open, my 7 year old opened it. I can't stand it when kid games are hard to get into. The box the cards are in is clearly labeled. The cards inside are very beautifully made cards. They are really thick and durable and the colors on them are vibrant.

Since we have never played a game like this before, I was extremely glad their were very detailed instructions included. I played this game with our 13 and 16 year olds, and it was a little bit too confusing for my 13 year old son. The game suggests ages 10 to 120 for playing, but I'm not sure if a ten year old would be able to figure our how to play it to be honest. It was even a little confusing for me. We did figure it out though, and after we figured it out, we had a lot of fun. It took us over an hour to finish the game. I would definitely recommend this game if you are looking to try something new. I did receive this at a full promotional price in exchange for my honest opinion. This review is solely my opinion and is not influenced by anyone.

Fun game. . We all played the part of the queen king peasant by putting on appropriate hats. We thoroughly enjoyed this game"
It really is not complicated - just a fun card game that basically you have to beat out the last person by having a higher card when your turn comes around. It is quick and easy to learn - all 10 of us were playing within 5 minutes of reading the directions

Very fun especially for older children or a group of adults! It is for 4-10 players so makes a great game for larger groups! Its a little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it the game is a lot of fun. Comes with some very detailed instructions so you will get the hang of it even if it takea a round or two. Just keep the instructions close by. We homeschool so this makes a perfect addition because it can bring some entertainment to this period of history but while playing the game you do not need to "know it all" to play and enjoy, It will take about 45 min to an hour to play which I find perfect for older kids and adults who actually want to really get involved in a game. I know it looks like a regular card game but the cards are high quality and for the price you are getting a very interesting and well made game that can bring a lot of entertainment to family and friends and would also make a great gift! With Kings and Queens. Noble men and peasants all fighting for or defending position you will have a lot of fun with this game!

I got this game for my husband and I to have for when we have friends over for a game night. I was kinda scared to play it the first time I pulled it out. Anarchy in the Monarchy is an incredibly fun card game for 4-10 players between the ages of 10-120, with a play time of approx. 45 mins. It is fun and is a great way to spend time with friends and even family.... It isn't complicated I think it is very laid back. Really like I got this game. It will make for many many fun game nights with friends.
