I used my smartbean 5 days a week at the gym for up to 2 hours each time and then in my car on the way home for a solid year, I just lost it :'( so i'm on this page to buy a new one and thought I would leave a review with my experience.
Pros:
Range exceeded expectation
Sound quality and volume is excellent
Battery also exceeded expectations
No trouble pairing or when using the buttons

Cons:
Buttons are oriented awkwardly for my *personal taste, but hardly an issue I quickly memorized their position
I lost it and now my life has a hole in it T_T

Good to connect phone music to a speaker that Does not have Bluetooth. Quality is as good as the speaker it's connected to is good
I do not like it as a Bluetooth for my phone and car. Does not connect to Siri. Volume is extremely low for calls. I would say it's only good for receiving calls definitely not for outgoing calls while you're driving It's not hands-free for the driver. Only for answering a call

Emits constant static background noise when no music or voice is relayed through the headphone. Also, bluetooth connection unstable. Sometimes, sound will revert back to the smartphone instead of the headphone (even if I am right next to the smartphone). Tried 3 different sets of headphones, and the result is the same. Contacted seller (Antec Storefront), thinking maybe unit is just defective, but never received response. Would not purchase again.

We bought two of these since our cars did not come with bluetooth. They work great for hands-free callling. The smartbean plugs into the auxiliary ports on our cars and then we clip the smartbean to our seat belts to ensure that the mic picks us up well while speaking. So far everyone has said we are coming through loud and clear. For the price, you definitely can't beat the bean. I would definitely purchase this again.

I bought this though not via Amazon. We use it in our car and there is a lot we like about it. The main points that I dislike are:

1: While you can use it while it charges, if you plug in the charger while it is on the Smartbean will power off.

2: Turning it off requires pressing and holding the of the play/pause button for a considerable time (several seconds.) Releasing it too soon, which is rather easy to do, causes the phone (at least for Android) to call the last number dialed. It does, at least, give an audio prompt for when you have held the button long enough for it to power off.

I bought one of these to see if I could use my Bose in-ear headphones wirelessly instead of buying yet another pair of Bluetooth phones. I'm pleased to report that the Smart Bean has exceeded my expectations in nearly every respect: the sound quality is surprisingly good, the battery life seems decent, it's very lightweight, and the controls are easy to use. It clips onto a shirt for easy access, although I usually just roll up any excess headphone cable length and put into my shirt pocket.

The range seems quite good for my needs. I can walk about 20' away without any signal loss (I haven't tested it further than that).

I'm not about to complain about the few things I think would be improvements, especially since I was able to get one of these for about $11. Instead, I'll mention three things as constructive, "wish list" suggestions:

1. It would be great if there was a way to support existing headphone in-line controls. Once you get used to controlling your audio source (iPhone in this case) with the headphone's own controls, it's a bit awkward to use the alternative controls on the Smart Bean instead.
2. The voice prompts are rather loud and jarring. Simple, quiet beeps indicating "power on" and "connected" states would suffice for me.
3. The flashing blue light every few seconds indicating an active Bluetooth connection is not particularly useful to me (I know it's connected, because I hear music), and tends to needlessly advertise to others that I'm using an electronic device. First generation Bluetooth cell phone headsets also did this, and manufacturers quickly disabled it with future models because it annoyed people. It's still annoying.Read more ›

Picked one of these up since I was getting tired of cords tying me up at my desk and the all in one bluetooth headphones were either to big, uncomfortable or sounded like crap. I have several favorite headphones I use at work so this seems ideal. And it is! First off sound quality-very clean sounding and will play louder than I can tolerate. Dont try to add any EQ to the lower octaves since all you get is severe distortion and clipping. There is also noticeable compression of the music. That being said I love the Smart Bean. When I go for walks I can control my volume and track selection without pulling out my phone while using my favorite earbuds. Definitely worth the cost for the convenience. Although my car has bluetooth I do drive a work car occasionally that doesnt have it but has an auxiliary jack. I can see the Smart Bean would be great in that circumstance too. When the weather turns cold it will be great to have when the phone is buried under clothing when outside. The Smartbean is a great buy.

Update 7/12/16: Realized you must back off on the volume of my phone after pairing. Default is maximum but at that level the audio is overloaded and sounds bad. Pulling it back to 3/4 made a world of difference; the compression issue disappeared after lowering the volume and the Smartbean will still play louder than I can take.

Update 8/2016: Still running strong and use it for my entire shift with no problems. A note on range-this device works much further away than the specs say; I can easily walk away and get 70+ feet from my desk before the music starts getting choppy and that is through multiple office partitions! My office restroom is about 70 feet from my desk behind a solid core wood door and it still makes it in there. The Smartbean really is a fantastic little device. ☺️
