To begin using the Mr. Coffee Smart Coffeemaker, simply plug it into an outlet in your kitchen and download the free WeMo app from the Google Play Store, the Apple App store, or the Amazon App store onto any smart device. The free WeMo app keeps you connected to your Mr. CoffeeSmart Cofeemaker anywhere you are--over Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G networks. It is compatible with Apple (iOS 7 and higher) and Android (4.0 and higher) devices and your existing Wi-Fi router.

First and foremost, a great cup of coffee. The smartest coffee maker out there!

I have been using the "Mr. Coffee Smart Wifi-Enabled WeMo 10-Cup" for about a week now.
First and foremost, the coffee tastes great (I use either Peets Major Dickenson or "El Cieleno") ground coffee with paper filters.

The device is slightly larger than the Mr. Coffee traditional brewer and pot it replaced but still easily fits on the counter top and underneath the cabinet. The tray for the coffee grounds is on the right and there is a disc filter which is hinged (making disposing of used grounds relatively easy). The water reservoir is on the left and is removable. The lid just sits on top and is not hinged and this might be bothersome for some. As noted the carafe is doubled walled and there is not hot plate. It my test the coffee was hot for over 6 hours! I did not experience any "leak" issues as reported in other reviews, but I will say it's a "slow" pour compared to other coffee pots.

I have made coffee using the following scenarios:

1) Pressed the "brew" button. Worked as expected. No issues. No leaks. Coffee tasted great!
2) Via the WeMo App. The setup was quick and easy. The app is not particularly difficult or sophisticated, nor does it need to be. If you trigger it to make coffee and the water reservoir is empty you get an error message indicating "Refill Water". The font size and color could be bigger and darker, but admittedly, this is nit-picking. The app works just fine and sends a message to your phone when the coffee is ready. You can easily schedule when to start brewing coffee and save the calendar schedule. Basic but good!
3) Via ITFFF & Alexa - After installing the correct "recipe" from ITFFF asking "Alexa, trigger brew coffee" Alexa responds with a message has been sent to ITFFF. Once the coffee is ready, a message is sent to your phone. Setup was relatively easy although I did initially have to download ITFFF and had to specifically search for the correct applet. The one I found and used is by "freebsdgirl". Really was very easy, thank you "freebsdgirl".
4) Via ITFFF & Fitbit. While searching for applets I came across one named "Start brewing coffee when your FitBit Registers you're awake". I cannot underscore the value of this applet. This applet is phenomenal! After setting it up and ensuring my FitBit is charged it makes coffee when I wake up! Fantastic. Have had only one issue. Took a nap on Sunday afternoon (after I already prepped the machine for Monday morning) and alas it registered when I awoke and made coffee at 4PM. Oh well. FitBit seems to really know the difference between going to the bathroom in the middle of the night vs. truly being awake so thus far I've not seen any coffee brewed at 3AM.

Overall this is a great coffee brewing machine, with great technology, at a reasonable price!!!!

Who knew a coffee maker could bring this much happiness? Being Alexa-enabled, we now begin brewing our coffee before ever getting out of bed and are no longer having to estimate how long we will sleep in on the weekends when setting a timer in advance. It works extremely well with Alexa and I highly recommend. I had read some reviews that talked about leaks from the carafe but I have not experienced that. I wonder if those reviewers did not line the carafe up correctly under the spout?

I waited a long time before posting this review. I made sure that it was absolutely nothing I could be doing wrong/user error that was causing this to happen before I posted a low product rating. I clean all parts of the coffee maker daily. I'm very careful not to over fill anything - water or grounds. I change the filters as recommend. I even switched back to regular paper filters, because several reviews said that the reusable filter basket was what caused the leaks... Yet still I wake up to get a cup of coffee and it looks like this again. (See photo) The only thing that this coffee maker does that my old coffee maker did not (I switched back to it this morning after I decided I'd had enough of wasting entire pots of coffee and cleaning up grounds from my counter and floor) was the feature of setting an individual daily brew schedule, and turning it on to brew using my phone. It's a good idea/nice thought, but I'm patient enough to set my automatic brew timer for whatever time I need each morning and should I wake up early, I can bare the few extra minutes it takes to wait on my coffee to brew. Much better than the 20 or 30 minutes I've spent each time cleaning up the mess it makes when this one decides to malfunction. Maybe this will be better in later models when they've worked all of the bugs out. Another recommendation is that this is only a 10 cup carafe and I normally prefer a 12 cup. Just as happy to be back using my old faithful Cuisinart. Hate that this one didn't work out.

Great coffee maker; love the wifi, makes good coffee

This is a great coffee maker. The wifi is reliable and the coffee is delicious. I love the removable water chamber, which has a shape that makes it easy to carry and slip into position when full of water. I haven't had any problems with leaking or overfilling the pot.

I like the way the coffee pours from the carafe by simply pressing the button (vs. twisting open the top, like my previous Mr Coffee required). The coffee filter container pulls out from the side, so you can't keep it next to the wall on that side or near any obstructions, but that's not really a problem, just a fact.

Overall, a great coffee maker; I recommend it.

This machine brews a great cup of coffee and the insulated carafe keeps the coffee hot for a few hours. One thing that other reviews have mentioned in a round about way: This machine will not interface directly with your Amazon Echo or Alexa device. You'll have to use an IFTTT.com recipe to integrate this into your automated home. Look for an IFTTT recipe named "Brew Coffee With Echo" published by freebsdgirl.

A Must Have!

Our lives would not be the same without this coffee pot! It is fabulous! You don't have to get out of bed on the cold winter mornings to start the coffee. You can either have an automatic timer which is easily set on your phone for whatever time and day you want the coffee to brew or forget the timer and whenever you wake up press the brew now button. It even tells you if you forgot to fill the brewer with water or to empty the carafe. Easily one of the best purchases I have made, and if it died tomorrow, I would buy another in a heartbeat. That's how fabulous this is. I was worried there is no hot plate as with traditional drip brewers. However, with the metal carafe, there is no need for a hot plate. I brew my coffee at 6 am and I can come home for lunch and still have a nice hot cup of coffee as it can keep the coffee hot that long. I never really noticed how annoying a hot plate is until you don't have it. No more burnt coffee a few hours after brewing!
