My daughter and I started watching this show together when it premiered while she was home from college for her Summer Break. Now that she's back at college, we each watch the show and then compare our reactions. Very well-acted and compelling drama. Amazon makes it very easy and convenient to "catch up" on an episode when we're unable to watch it when it's televised. Thanks, Amazon! : )

Beautifully written heart wrenching script! This show has a lot of aspects to it, but while does not stray far from the plot. The characters along with the actors who play the characters are both simply extraordinary! The characters and well diveloped and likable (when the said characters are meant to be likable). Along with the actors who seem to enjoy and understand the characters they are playing. If you are having any doubts by the first episode and you won't be disappointed!

The premise of this story is complex and interesting. How does a teenage girl and her family deal with her return to them after being kidnapped by a woman who then raised her for 12 years or so. Carter's conflict about having a mother who loves her, who she still loves, but who was actually her kidnapper who stalked her family before the crime. Carter's biological family struggles to reintegrate her into their family of 4, Mom, Dad, and 2 siblings, as she struggles to find how she fits into theirs. The acting is excellent, especially Cynthia Watros, whose role as Elizabeth, Carter's mom is exceptional. The entire cast delivers performances that are nuanced and complete in emotional range.

This is an interesting concept for a series. I do find it somewhat depressing and distressing to see so much casual drug and alcohol use by young teens. I tuned in because I was curious to check out a few familiar actors whose work I follow. I haven't yet decided if I will continue this one.

While Finding Carter has never been a show I would rush to tell others to watch, due to it's soap opera swings and constant over-the-top drama, it has a certain perspective and drive notably different than other popular shows of the MTV genres. Finding Carter's tenth episode, "Love Story" is perhaps the most dramatic of the series, but also one which is critical for truly appreciating the drives, intentions, and thoughts of the characters. I always find it interesting how a "guilty pleasure" show can still have an array of characters which are all, to some point, developed. As usual, this show makes great use of the main character's attraction to chaos and adventure, while highlighting her still apparent naivety and poor decision making. While some may call her easy-to-hate, it is the core of her static character that makes the show all the more interesting. In this episode, you will see characters loop around their dynamic personalities (which were made dynamic arguably by the stubborn, headstrong, static main character herself), and cause the main character, Carter, to realize the reality that her decisions lead to consequences. This is also the first time in the series, which hints at Carter finally beginning to change.

What an awful person. She doesn't seem to care for anyone but herself. Eww. I'm curious about the whole story, but it appears it is going to be doled out, piecemeal. Imagine how difficult it is for her natural mother to be picked on for every sentence by a 40 year-old woman.

This show is awesome, kudos MTV. I 'm in my thirties now and I remember MTV's first attempts at scripted series; lame. But this show is amazing. All of the actors are believable and realistic and they do an outstanding job at portraying real people in an "up-side-down" situation. I also feel the writing is clever and well written. I think this show is up there with Orphan Black.
