Very high quality compounds

This is a very good set for final stropping knives, and by the time you've stropped with the finest paste here, you will have an edge that goes well beyond razor sharpness. The compounds themselves are uniformly consistent and spread easily onto my strop (not clumpy or dry like some others), and appear to have excellent "cut" even with light pressures. The only complaint is that the petroleum base used is very aromatic, so there's a bit of a kerosene smell when working with the paste, though it fades with time.

Work somewhat but can't highly recommend it

Seems to work somewhat, but not as good as I had hoped. I can run through some of the grits and not get any black on the strop from the compound removing metal like it should. There are a couple that seem to do ok and do remove some metal, but seems there are at least 3 that don't seem to do anything. The .5 micron seems to work ok and so does the 1 micron which is the one I actually like the most in the pack. The .25 micron is my least favorite as it clumps up so bad it's hard to use and I haven't ever seemed to get any results from it. The others are not that impressive being higher micron rating should have no problem abrading the edge, but they just don't seem to do much. Just my experience anyway.

I used these polishing compounds to polish heat treated D2 tool steel to a mirror like finish using a small brass round as a hand lap. D2 has a high abrasion resistance and these compounds still cut well.

After more use and diversified applications, I am still happy with this product. I've polished multiple types of metals with great success. The only problem I have run into is with softer materials; the courser grits can get embedded in the softer materials and then break away later on while running a finer grit, leaving scratches in the surface. The only way I have countered this is to thoroughly clean my part between grits, and to use a polishing cloth or lapping pad that is softer than the work piece, so the grits get stuck in it rather than the part.

These are great lapping pastes!

Better than expected!!!

I was skeptical to you such a cheap product on such an expensive Apple Watch. I had purchased this watch third-party, and I had a very large deep scratch in the upper left-hand corner above the rotary switch. After much review, YouTube videos, and other people‘s experiences and opinions. I decided to purchase this diamond paste. I first tried the paste on a watch crystal of a watch that I no longer use. It worked great! Then I finally felt as if I had enough experience and enough guts to actually put the diamond paste on my Apple Watch face. After using the 0.5 µm paste. The scratch had pretty much disappeared. I then used the 0.25 µm paste to just give it a mirror finish and go across the entire watch face and the watch literally looks like it came from the factory, BRAND NEW!! There is not a scratch! This is definitely the way to go to remove scratches from an Apple Watch base. As long as you already have a dremmel tool it’s the best $8 you’re going to spend to fix your watch!!!!

I added some before and after pictures of my wife’s ring though!!

This stuff is magic!!! The best. I never really polished anything before but my neice asked me if i could sharpen a sword she bought it had a very bad finish on it and i knew it could have a mirror finish. well, not as easy as i thought it became an obsession! after spending hundreds of dollars on sand paper, micro fiber cloth, dremmel bits and rouge. I finally ran across this lapping paste. 1 use of the 5 micron the biggest size I have gave me the mirror finish better than all the other stuff 1 application!! then I did an application all the way down to .25micron and it just got more mirror like and more mirror like!! looks almost like a magic sword compared to what it looked like before. yes this stuff is amazing. I just used a dremmel and the felt disks!!!! thank you kent. I have a feeling this will really put the finishing touches on the edge on it too!!! not that it matters but it smells great too.

Works like a charm! Have typically used other types of compounds for general hobby polishing with my Dremel, with only marginal results. This stuff, however, works! If you are patient, carefully use a variety of grits, etc., you can expect to get some fantastic finishes.

This stuff is amazing. I bought it for occasional buffing of metal and made my choice based on the many positive reviews by others. I used it yesterday for the first time on an antique flute key that got all discolored after I heated it hot enough to bend. A tiny dab of one of these on a scrap of cloth and it was totally clean without looking abnormally shiny or in any way scratched. I am very happy to have a set of these in my tool box.

I bought this paste to try and polish out some very fine scratches in a watch sapphire crystal. The scratches did get less noticeable but now there is a "foggy" spot on the crystal where I rubbed this paste. Not pleased with this result at all.
