I experienced hearing loss from going to an ear bleedingly loud show when I was young and now as an adult I've been much more protective of my ears when i go to concerts our loud clubs. For a long time I've been using the Ear Love earplugs, which have worked but have never been all that comfort comfortable.
I spotted these DUBS in a magazine and decided to give them a try, I was pretty amazed at how much more I liked them.
DUBS fits pretty snugly in the ear so there isn't much protruding beyond your ear lobe. One of the things I never liked about Ear Love is it felt like I had these little spikes hanging out of my ears. Once you get DUBS in they are very hard to see, especially in a dark club.
DUBS did a great job of lowering the volume considerably while still maintaining the integrity of the sound. They are rated at -12db, but it really depends on the shape of your ear compared to the earplugs. I tested them out at a very loud club with a popular EDM DJ. Unlike the Ear Love which I often had to take out and replace (due to irritation), I found that once I put the DUBS in, they stayed put for the whole night. I wore them for about 2 1/2 hours comfortably with only minor soreness at the end.
Ultimately, the DUBS are cool. From the package they come in, to the way they look in your ears. My oldest daughter refuses to wear ear plugs at loud concerts because of the look, and these look good enough she's willing to wear them. That's HUGE. Making ear protection cool isn't an easy task and DUBS has done it with a quality product that I absolutely recommend.
