Just got today so not broken in but sound good already. Think they will be a good upgrade from my aged KEF Q1’s and subwoofer. The Q Acoustics are more balanced, with highs not as peaky as the KEF’s.
Seller was great. Product arrived as scheduled and in great condition. The are brand new not some refurbished speaker or knockoff Thanks for a good honest transaction.
Very happy with purchase

Having had these for well I’ve a year, I’d like to say that breaking them in is essential. They sound better after they have opened up, particularly in regards to bass response.

Edit (July 17): Got about 80 hours on the 3050's and all is even better. Sound stage is wide and deep for my music taste (jazz, classical and light rock). Also, I decided to give bi-wiring a try since these speakers are set up for that. I've always been sort of skeptical about bi-wiring, but since I had extra wire on hand I had nothing to lose. Nothing fancy, just two sets of Blue Jeans 14 ga. to each speaker. In my setup, made everything clearer and more well-defined. My setup is two channel only, so cannot comment on any benefits for home theater usage. For the money, you would be hard-pressed to find better performance than these speakers.
Edit (December 27). Just had my six-month anniversary with the 3050's and they sound better than ever in my two-channel setup. I estimate that they have about 500 hours or so on them and the sound has really settled in at a consistent level. Bass is extended and tight; highs are crisp and clear with no trace of hardness; mids are just right - well balanced and taut. I know there are better speakers out there, but you'd be challenged to find one at this price/value level.
Edit (March 8, 2018). Better than ever...I've forgotten about them, which is a good thing. They just play music in two channel without drawing attention to themselves, which is the ultimate goal of every audio component I would think. Best bang-for-the-buck speakers I have ever owned.
First I need to say that initially I received a defective speaker which I had to return. The two main cones didn't work; just the tweeter. It was disappointing but Q Acoustics sent me a new one immediately. It's been smooth sailing since then. We have enjoyed a wide array of music and they constantly make us smile with their precision, refinement, warmth and range. The sound is very sophisticated and not ever gaudy. We listen to a lot of Pandora but of course they really shine with CDs and especially vinyl. They eat up jazz in glorious fashion. Gabor Szabo has been a highlight thus far. Orchestra Baobab is dazzling. The bass doesn't always pop until you play certain things. A recent spin of Wyclef Jean's "Carnival" made it clear that the Qs are not lacking. Serious bassheads will probably want to add a sub.
We haven't fully tested them with cinema. We've been pleased with TV thus far. We have a Yamaha receiver which does the job but I'm sure they would be that much better with something more high end.
Last but not least, these are the sexiest speakers I've ever seen. I can't help but admire them every day. They add such a spectacular aesthetic to our living room. For the price, there really is no question that these are the creme de la creme.

Footnote: I have tried bi-wiring and standard connections and have come to the conclusion that standard wiring is superior, the middle is slightly clearer. I waded through Rattles disappointing Beethoven symphonies box and there is much less confusion with the standard set up, and you don't use as much speaker cable. Also, I bought these direct from Q Acoustic as Amazon cocked up my order, and the service was very good, apart from the courier moaning about how heavy they are, I did laugh! They are two huge boxes.Hope that helps, I'm listening to Angela Hewitt's Bach box set-heaven!!

Speakers have a very strange tweeter made out of soft synthetic fabric, which just cannot play high sounds properly. These speakers cannot be called, like some speakers do – for intellectual listening. What someone might like is that they are really loud and you could say – punchy (just 6ohms resistance and sensitivity – 92dB). Overall sound, I would say, is muddy and like other people were saying in reviews they are not best for the music listening, maybe they are good for surround sound for cinema were more speakers are involved and they would compensate each others imperfections.

I had Wharfedale Pacific EVO 30's which are sweet sounding, beautiful looking and quite big floorstanders but these are dwarfed by the 3050's who stand a little more than a meter tall. The 3050's are beautiful sound monoliths with their rounded edges, they have a commanding presence, they look SO good, I am absolutely smitten by them.
Enough about the looks, how's the sound? In one word: sweet! I have a little more than 40 hours break-in time on them at the moment and they sound excellent. I am driving them from a Marantz NR1200 with Amazon Music HD as high res source with QED XT-25 cables, nothing fancy but certainly up to the task. I thought they already sounded mint right out of the box, maybe a little harsh in the highs and unfocused in the lows but that VERY soon changed into a smooth sounding combo. I have seen reviews lamenting the lack of bass. Put James Blake's 'Limit to your Love' on and the bass just pins you back in your seat and at moderate volume. Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü's 'Mind (feat. Kai) [Ekali & Gravez Remix]' has beautiful big bass and Sevdaliza's album 'Ison' is beautifully produced with rich lows as is FKA Twig's 'LP1' and Underworld's 'Dubnobasswithmyheadman'. If you can't hear the bass in those albums on these speakers there is something wrong in your audio chain and it's not these speakers believe me! I don't use the foam bungs as they inhibit and choke the sound at least in my room, they may have their uses for others but they stay in their little plastic bags in my house.
Miles Davis's 'Kind of Blue' and 'Bitches Brew' in 24-bit/96 kHz is a real treat. 'Leaving meaning' from Swans is huge, wide, epic. David Sylvian's 'Secrets of the Beehive', an album that has been with me for decades now has revealed new layers to me. I can go on and on about the new revelations I hear in albums that I have known for a long time but I am already longwinded as it is. Sound is wide, roomfilling, precise, everything is balanced, the mids are well defined, the feeling of space is so clear and you now where everyone is in that space. Vocals are clear and centered.
I once had a high end setup for a year that my audiophile brother had loaned me with a worth of 15.000 euros. I can't remember the brand, they were huge mono blocks with pre-amp and my speakers at the time were Dutch made Aura Pied Pipers. After a year I could purchase the set for 1.500 euros, a fraction of the worth but I just didn't have the money so I had to let them go. After that everything sounded mediocre and I never bothered anymore and was content with mp3's played through my computer on mediocre 5.1 and 7.1 AV Receivers. Until now.
The Marantz/Q Acoustics setup I have now coupled with Amazon Music HD have given me the real pleasure of listening to music back, however budget it all may be. Don't get me wrong, I have never stopped listening to music and enjoying it but this set, now beautifully rounded out by the 3050's put a smile on my face everyday. It is remarkable what QA has done within this price bracket with the 3050. I am truly, truly impressed with the sheer quality of the sound produced by them. It is truly audiophile for the masses and a huge thank you to Q Acoustics to bring quality like that at a price that the common man can afford.
If you can get hold of these for a nice price, do it, you will not regret it!
