Easy way to add protein to your diet
I have chronic digestive issues and am eating a mostly full liquid diet. Its hard to find items that are high in protein except for those individual nutrition drinks or huge tubs of whey. I still eat dairy products but am trying to cut as much out of my diet as possible. After doing some research, I found that gelatin is high in protein.I purchased the two 1lb bag set to start with. I had eaten some boxed gelatin but did not care for all the added ingredients in the mix. I used the Now Foods beef gelatin along with 100% organic juice and made a jello batch. I was amazed how simple it is to make and how much better it tasted.After adding a tablespoon or two of gelatin to my daily intake, I have begun to notice some differences in my digestive issues. Gelatin coats the digestive track and has helped my stomach and esophagus feel better. I have really bad Gerd that never stops. This helps sooth my digestive track.I am also noticing my arthritic areas are starting to feel less inflamed. I can walk a little longer before the pain gets out of hand. I am impressed how quickly the gelatin benefits are working.I have put gelatin in my hot cereals (oatmeal, cream of wheat) and cold cereals, along with my smoothies. I will be making gummy bears soon do I can sneak some gelatin into Hubby's diet. There are 45 - 1 Tbsp. servings per package, 90 servings total for both bags. Each serving has 9 grams of protein. This size package will last you for a while.I highly recommend this Now Foods Gelatin. You get two pounds for about the same brand as the other brands. I like that it comes in two one pound plastic bags so that one bag can stay closed and dry while the other is being used.
