I bought this monitor a little less than a month ago, and wanted to go through my experiences with it. It's been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, but in the end, I love my monitor.
Pros:
Wow. 1440p where have you been all my life? 1080p has had its run, but with smart phones and laptops really pushing the pixels, 1080p was starting to look dated. 1440p on the other hand really is the perfect density of pixels for a 27in desktop monitor. I can't notice pixels at all, which makes the windows desktop experience feel more premium and enjoyable. Gaming is also awesome at this definition, some games REALLY benefit from the higher resolution, BF4 to name one. The color contrast is also welcome, and I like that adjusting my head a bit wont distort the color like on my old TN panel. G-sync is also an amazing technology. I am running this with my 980ti, but even this card on certain games (like GTA5) can run into a few low moments depending on the environment at 1440p. G-sync really makes it so I dont even notice the FPS dipped, which makes for an immersive fluid experience. I also feel as though G-sync will get me an extra year or two out of my card because of how seamless the experience feels at lower FPS.
Cons:
Come nighttime my first day with the monitor, I decided to test for the infamous backlight bleed. Low and behold, I had a bit in the top left, middle, and bottom middle corners of the bezel. The monitor out of the box has the brightness set way too high (at like 60 I believe), so following the owners club advice I decreased brightness to 27. This helped A LOT to diminish the backlight bleed, but I could still notice it a bit on pure black screens which really irked me.Read more ›

TL;DR: Acer refuses to repair my monitor with horrible ghosting issues but insists that I keep sending it in for repair. No other options available. Amazon refunds. Avoid Acer unless you like terrible customer service.
I purchased this monitor back in November and absolutely loved it. It was beautifully crisp and smooth. Unfortunately, after about 2 months the monitor started to suffer from some terrible ghosting and motion blur. This was not a minor issue, as you can see from the photo I have attached. After going through a couple of weeks of troubleshooting I came to the conclusion that the monitor was the cause of the issues. I changed out every variable in the system (included video cards, display port cables and every possible software configuration/driver) that could be at fault and the issue did not exist on my other monitor.
I contacted Acer and they told me that I would have to send my monitor in for repair (7-10 business days to repair it). Initially, the support tech told me that I would have to pay for shipping to send the monitor in to have it repaired. Acer reluctantly agreed to pay for the shipping both ways and I sent the monitor off for repair. According to the case # Acer gave me my monitor was "under repair" for the better part of 5 days. I received it back after 15 days and open the box to find that Acer hadn't repaired my monitor. Instead, they "tested the monitor for 18 hours and found no issue." This was the first thing that Acer did that upset me. I send them a monitor to have it repaired and they fail to find the issue. That's fine, but instead of contacting me and allowing me to assist them in replicating the problem they just close the ticket box it up and send it back to me without doing anything.Read more ›

There are 2 versions of this monitor. A TN version and an IPS version. The description for this model says it is the IPS version. And the price is what you would expect for the IPS version. I just ordered this monitor and the labeling on the side clearly states that it is a TN panel. If you are looking for the IPS version of this monitor, do not order this one.

Giving this 3 stars for 3 reasons, but first let me give the Pros:
This monitor is sturdy, gorgeously clear, and a pleasure to behold on the eyes. I used the custom calibration settings and ICC profile from TFTCentral.co.uk and can say it's great fun using in games. Being IPS I am also going to enjoy doing design work on the display. The size is a huge leap for me from my 22" Velocity Micro and the image quality is even more of a leap as the old display's resolution was 1650 x 1050. The Bezel is relatively thin (not sure why so many people complained) so having 2-3 of these suckers shouldn't be too much of an issue IMO; however, you will probably have about 1" of bezel total (1/2 per monitor) from display to display.
The stand is easily maneuverable except it doesn't seem to want to swivel on the base, which does swivel! Not really sure why this is.
Now to the bad points:
1. The displayport cable is woefully short. I tried using a cable I had laying around and no image came up. I am hoping that I just had a lame cable. I'll be buying a new one that is longer and hopefully it will work.
2. No USB 3 Uplink cable. For being such an expensive product Acer should have packaged all the cables with the display. This is a $10.00 item for a 6' cable at BestBuy. Guess I'll have to make a 2nd purchase.
3. Most egregious of all: The monitor has several (at least 4 that I can see) dead pixels right out of the box. I wouldn't mind so much if they were nearer to the edge of the display but they are closer to the middle. I will probably be sending it back for a new display--hopefully one without dead pixels.Read more ›
