- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2022Hi Butch here, used my wife’s account to place the order. I use the Phil Jones Bass headset for bass guitar practice mixed with music from my computer. The bass is boomy and the mids to highs are crisp and clear. The headset is extremely comfortable and light weight. The only other headset I’ve used for bass was a set of Ultrsone’s I purchased 15 years ago and the bass was sort of muffled. The Phil Jones set was definitely a big upgrade! Time will tell how they hold, but I take good care of them so they should last.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2024I bought these on the urging of my wife, who is sick of listening to me, playing the bass, and practicing around the house. I’ve tried using earphones without success, often over many years, but I thought I’d try these since Phil Jones is a Bass guy . the reproduction of the bass is better, but it’s still not anywhere near as nice as playing through a professional bass rig.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2021Wow, I noticed this product had some bad reviews. These paired with my Phil Jones BIG HEAD Bass guitar headphone amp are extremely impressive. If you plug these into a cheap amp or audio source I’m sure you can guess what the results will be, no set of headphones will cure that. At first I wasn’t impressed with sound quality. I knew that the drivers would need some break in time. After 4 hours of 20-40hz bass frequency cycling via YouTube they sound amazing. The drivers produce nice low frequencies, clean mids, and nice crisp highs. I highly recommend these if you’re a bass player looking for headphones to use in a play along situation such as using Smart phone or smart device paired with a quality bass amplifier. Comfort is excellent.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2016Tried many headphones to get to these. They deal with the low frequencies of an unprocessed Bass Guitar and work great for practice, recording or live situations. They handle the low B about as well as you could expect from a pair of headphones. Generally they sound pretty good but I use them just for bass guitar.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2019This is a tough review to write because I own other PJB products that I rave about, but this one left me feeling ripped off. My headphones broke at the pivot point with very casual use (no abuse), less than six months after purchasing. After it broke, it was easy to see why inside - a narrow, hollow, weak, blow-molded, plastic component (absurdly under-engineered). I contacted customer support. They did not seem at all surprised, but the best they could do was offer to sell me another identical set for half price. I found that to be incredibly tacky. I guess their warranty policy must exclude faulty products.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2020Where do I begin? I’ll try a truncated version. These were a total disappointment as a bass player, trying to get a clean sound at a moderate level. I have a set of Sanson phones with size 50mm drivers that handle lower bass frequencies far better than these at 1/3 the cost!
These are going back, extremely disappointing. I really wanted to like these phones but they’re just not doing a sufficient job of providing the sound quality that I need.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2019Great sound quality and very comfortable!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2020Made with very low quality materials.
The cable is the worst part.
The sound quality is acceptable when you are hearing a bass. But hearing common music it sounds very bad.
i would pay no more than $40 for it.
