About the Author

Marcel Westerlund believes in placing soul and spirit at the heart of his practice. As co-founder of a Swedish forensic research facility in 2001, and a Forensic and General Adult Psychiatrist, he has completed extensive training in medicine, psychotherapeutic techniques for issues surrounding alcohol and drugs, schizophrenia, and sexual violence. He was author of the first Swedish book on AIDS in 1985, Westerlund also received Life Between Lives training in the United Kingdom in 2006 and recently published his latest book, Afterlife.

Dr Westerlund has worked as a Forensic & General Adult Psychiatrist in Sweden for 8 years, and within the British National Health Service for 8 years, before continuing his career in Bermuda. In Sweden he worked on behalf of the National Board of Forensic Medicine, and was also for a few years head of the second largest psychiatric hospital in Sweden.

In England Dr Westerlund was the Lead Consultant for a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit at British University Hospital. In Bermuda Dr Westerlund has been working as the islands Forensic Psychiatrist. He has also covered learning disability, inpatient- and outpatient detoxification services the at Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute.

Dr Westerlund had extensive training in psychotherapy in Sweden. Since 2001 he has worked with hypnotherapy as an intensive psychotherapeutic tool in order to address and cure anxiety, depressions, obsessive-compuslive disorders, social phobia, severe grief and personality problems. "
