- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2025Size: USB-A (3.1) | 2.5"Verified PurchaseI have several different brands of these, which I use to connect ssd drives to raspberry pi computers. This is the ONLY one that actually works; the others just crash the computer. Even the "official" one does not work, but this one works like a charm. I just wish the cable was a bit shorter.

I would purchase this product again.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2019Size: USB-A (3.1) | 2.5" - 3.5"Verified PurchaseSo, first off, I had a Powered Sata to USB adapter (i think it was usb 2.0?) and sadly, the signal cut out over and over (different brand and older). So, I honestly bought this one. The price made me a bit hesitant. But I am glad I did.
First off, its solid. It doesn't feel like junk in your hand. It doesn't rattle. And best of all, it just works.
I recently bought a 6 TB harddrive as my main storage drive, so I had to transfer over my 2 TB drive, and my 100 GB drive onto the 6TB. Down the road I will grab another 6 TB and use windows to link them together as one larger 12 TB drive.
My first surprise was the ability to work with my 100 GB drive, which was originally formatted using IDE protocols through SATA, which most motherboards now don't even support..... So the only real way to get my newer PC to recognize the drive, would be to format it, but then I lose my important work data. So using this USB 3.1 adapter, it actually found my drive at let me get my files off it. Which is fantastic. My older adapter form another brand refused to see this drive....
Then of course, the 2TB drive went off without a hitch. My older adapter would cut in and out causing data transfer issues, and then it wouldn't allow you to retry, you had to start all over again. This one, not a single issue.
My transfer speeds were around 10 Mbps to 130 Mbps which is pretty damn good considering its just an adapter, with speeds staying more in the 80-110 Mbps range. My older adapter, barely hit 30 Mbps, and sat more around 5-15 Mbps.
Very pleased with the build quality, as well as the data transfer speeds.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2024Size: USB-A (3.1) | 2.5"Verified PurchaseI sometimes need to transfer data from laptop drives that are screwed into a metal caddy. Adapters with wider SATA connector blocks require the drive to be removed from the caddy first. Not a big deal, but this is more convenient.
The cable is 16" long, which is a good length, allowing versatile positioning of the drive and easy coiling to fit into my toolbox.
The adapter works great and seems well built. Unlike other adapters, this one shows up in Windows' "safe ejection" dialog as the model of the hard drive itself, rather than the model of the adapter's chipset, which is helpful.
The only thing it lacks that would be good to have is an activity indicator LED so I know whether the drive is active or idle.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2018Size: USB-A (3.1) | 2.5"Verified PurchaseWell it works and yes it is Sata 3.1 but there are a few things that I did not like. First of all it tends to get very warm when it is being used. Second there is no LED to indicate that the drive is being accessed. There is a RED LED on the bottom that appears to indicate power. Lastly while the 20 inch cable may be adequate for use with a laptop it is a royal pain for a desktop with the USB3 connectors in the rear. If they had a 1 meter cable then this would be more suitable ... even better if it were a thin, flexible, braided cable.
