"On top of all of this book's other endearing qualities is the fact that my three-year-old giggles almost continuously whenever we read this story. That makes Bubbles: Big Stink in Frog Pond a winner in our house."

About the author

Ben is a (mostly) retired adventurer who has traveled across Tibet, climbed to 18,000 feet on Mt. Everest, and solo backpacked wilderness areas. He now writes adventure and mystery stories for boys and girls. Tales of lost gold and river caves, and flying with eagles. Stories of friendships that endure through adversity and danger. Adventures that inspire and educate and, most of all, entertain.
Ben and his wife Lynda live on a shaded street with eighty-year-old trees in Lexington, Kentucky.

If Bubbles doesn’t stop what he is doing, he will be banned from Frog Pond.
How will Bubbles solve his problem & please the other frogs?
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great colored pictures & proper font & writing style. A very well written children’s (age 1-7) frog story book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s frog movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

The author, Ben Woodward, has written a fun book about Bubbles the frog. Bubbles lived in a big pond, but unfortunately Bubbles made very big bubbles that were smelly. All of his frog friends started to complain, they suggested he eat different kinds of flies. But that did not help at all. Bubbles did not know what to do. His friends were so upset they suggested he had to leave, they could no longer tolerate the smells. Bubbles decided he had to leave, and off he went. All of a sudden he heard cries for help, and he went to see what was wrong. When you read this book, you will understand what occurs.
Parents/teachers will enjoy reading this book to their children. The children will laugh and giggle all through this book. They will talk about their bubbles, and will be able to talk about what to do when this occurs. The illustrations by Fran Riddell are bright, vivid and colorful. When my daughter was small, our favorite activity was spending time with a good book. Ben Woodward’s book was the type of story I searched for in a bookstore because it has the elements that serve a useful purpose. The artwork is good, the story is interesting to a very young child and it teaches a lesson. The first real challenge a child faces involves potty training. This book serves the purpose of teaching the child that while there elements about body functions that aren’t necessarily pleasant, there are rules that must be learned if the child is to be acceptable to others. This story not only teaches a lesson, it is a fun read. The frog has a problem, but he learns that his behavior is normal while in need of being improved. He also learns that there are dangers in life, but not insurmountable if he follows some simple rules. This would be a good first book for those parents seeking a way to connect with their child. I highly recommend Bubbles and I think your child will enjoy the story.
Colorful children's story about a frog named Bubbles. The trouble in Frog Pond was all his fault.
He stinks and the others do not like it, one bit. One suggested he eat different bugs. One good thing he discovers is he can scare the boys away from catching frogs-because he smells SO bad.
Cute story.
The book is targeted for three to seven year olds; story line will probably appeal to the upper end of that range. The illustrations are simple and the plot is predictable.. Children who like humorous, quirky books will probably like it. Not the type of book to read and reread. Some parents or teachers might want to use it to approach a sensitive topic.
This story is adorable and easily relatable to most children. Most parents know firsthand how hilarious children think it is to make their own “bubbles” in the bath. This book is sure to engage and entertain even small children. The illustrations are charming, colorful and eye-catching. It’s a short read, so it would make an excellent bedtime or even bath time read. Great fun!
