Our PET is a uniquely braided weave with a wide expandability that enables quick n’ easy installation over large connectors and lengthy runs. Braided Sleeving can be found in applications ranging from small office/home projects to high tech wire and cable harnesses. This sleeving is braided from 10 mil polyethylene terepthalate (PET) monofilament yarns. The material has a wide operating temperature range (-50? to +150?), is resistant to chemical degradation, UV radiation, and abrasion. Nice cable cover. but 1/4 inch is the finished size.

This is a great item, one thing to note is the 1/4" is the finished size ( stretched ) , the unstretched size is about 3/16 or so. for those not having a ruler around its slightly larger then the lead of a #2 pencil and can stretch easily over the outside of it. I finished the ends of mine with some shrink tubing ( not included ) but the weave seems stout enough to not fray for light applications.

It gave speaker cables a nice finished look, but a hassle to do

This was as expected, it's a mesh I used to cover my home theater speaker cables. It was quite a hassle to put on, but looks slick now that they are done. When applying this, you have to push it onto whatever you are sleeving. It's like a finger trap, if you pull it just tightens, so push push push until it's all the way on. What I did (since speaker cable is not really rigid) was take about a 1 foot piece of a single #12 electrical wire and tape it to the speaker wire. This gives you a chance to get the stuff started and a good thing to hold on to when pushing it down the speaker wire. Then you just bunch as much as you can and slide the excess down, it will push itself and propagate down the line.
I know I said push a lot, but that's how you do it. See pictures for some more info. I dropped this one by a star because you can get 100 ft for not much more..

Great product. I cut it using scissors and then singed the end with a lighter, which was ok but I also used electric tape around the end to smooth it, because it did leave pretty rough edges where I cut it. My only complaint is that it's not extremely comfortable against the skin, if you're using it for something like headphones. But it does what it's supposed to do, and does it well. I used the 1/4 inch for a 1/4 inch headphone cord + 1/8th inch mic cord (using ModMic with headphones) and the 1/4 inch was perfect fit. Thought it was too small at first, but no it's fine.

I finally got around to using this to do my cable management at my computer station in my home. Worked very well - I was able to fit several large diameter video and power cables through this without issue. I was NOT able to fit a DVI connector through this; it just barely did not fit (I just used displayport instead, RIP DVI).
I would suggest using a hot knife or at least a lighter to seal the ends when you cut them, or else it unravels quickly. I am using velcro cable ties at the ends to keep them from unraveling, and that is working fine.

Perfect for RC aircraft wiring. Exposed wires (especially in multirotor aircraft) can become easily damaged in a crash or a prop-hit. These also keep servo/ESC wires and battery wires nicely bundled and tidy. I'm a big fan.

Pro-tip: Cut the sleeving with something hot... An old butterknife heated up with a candle? A soldering iron past its usefulness? Use heat to cut it, then jam something 1/4" up the middle (like a Sharpie marker or something) to expand the braid at the cut point. Enjoy!

Interesting stuff. Simple but there is about a minute of a learning curve as I've cut it too long a few times. This stuff really expands and is slick enough that sliding wires and plugs through are no problems. Half a second with a lighter will seal the end but it can still fray, best to cover with a piece of heat shrink.

Amazing cable wrap!!

I bought this for one cable application... I ended up using the rest of it to wrap every group of cables I have. It is really handy. For wider plug ends like VGA or 3-prong extension cables, it barely opens wide enough with some convincing. If you have multiple big plug ends, like wrapping a VGA with a power plug plus others, I recommend a thicker wrap, like the 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" of the same brand. I ended up needing the 1 1/2" for some of my applications. Just be sure to get electrical tape to clean up the ends too.
