This is I believe, Steve Kilbey's ninth collaboration with Martin Kennedy since 2009's Unseen Music, Unheard Words, and certainly not their last, I pray (they have a new release this year)! In Inside We Are the Same (from 2015), by Steve Kilbey (The Church) and Martin Kennedy (All India Radio), one has more genuine proof; of the ethereal magic these two are making together, notwithstanding, the literally vast compendium of "musical magic" Steve Kilbey has been making with his band---The Church; for the last thirty-six years, which is just incredible in itself and no easy feat.
This release, has all the "gnosis" Steve Kilbey's words and lyrics are know for, and enhanced by the ambient soundscape of melody and harmony that Martin Kennedy and Steve Kilbey have created here. This album is pure bliss! I love all 11 tracks, but some strong standouts are: This Merciful Blur, Oh My Glad, This Is The Universe, Shegaze, Elude, Swansea, Theodora, Ho Chi Min, etc. But, like I said, there isn't one bad track or song in the whole lot, they all share in the same superior quality and blend, of the words and music. This CD/album is a must have, you will not be disappointed.
The CD sound quality is excellent. I have to make special mention of the additional beautiful vocals of Hollie Houlihan-McKie on Elude, Oh My Glad, Theodora, Ho Chi Min, and Once.
Love and Peace,
Carlos Romero

I believe this may be my favorite album of the year so far. It's hard to keep track of which thing was released 2014 vs 2015, but I can't think of anything new I've played this much other than the last WAR ON DRUGS album.I'm not going to do a track by track review, because that isn't my style. I'm usually so lost in the music that I'm not looking at the song titles anyway. But listen to the driving, fantastic opening track "Armenia" or "Oh My Glad" or "Theodora".The textures on this album are out of this world, the guitar work is intricate and evocative with little hints of David Gilmour's "Division Bell" era prettiness, and a million other sounds that make you sit up and go 'wow, that is a great sound or effect choice!'. Some of the recent music of The Church (Kilbey's other outfit) have left his vocals thin and mid-rangey, but this album has the vocals in a perfect full / warm blend in the music, really showcasing his strengths in a way that other recent recordings haven't.I'm so happy with this purchase (though I got the white vinyl version from CD Baby) that I just recommended it to a friend and offered to buy it from them at full retail price if they didn't like it. It's that good. There is so much to this album, and all of it good. Get it.

EXCELLENT music/album and excellent vinyl LP. The white vinyl is striking with the images of Steve Kilbey & Martin Kennedy on the center labels. Happy to add this to my collection.

I am not a track by track analyst either. I was so excited to receive the new Kilbey Kennedy CD, my husband and I sat down to listen and could not help but to continue replaying this....this....unbelievably GORGEOUS creation. I don't think I've ever heard anything so beautifully soul-stirring in my life! I have no idea how these two manage to out do themselves with each release. But, they have, in fact done it again. Words cannot convey just how exquisite their music is. I have loved the Church for many, many years and enjoy Steve Kilbey's solo work and collaborative efforts as well. I don't say this lightly, but I do believe this is the best I have ever heard him sound....this is a stellar production, and I am so very grateful to be able to experience this treasure again and again. I pray Messrs. Kilbey and Kennedy continue to grace us with their extraordinary art.

Mala audición y Mal Prensado
Reviewed in Spain on August 11, 2019
Maravilloso disco. Pero el prensado es defectuoso. Continuos “clics” durante la audición y la aguja salta en el mismo lugar en las 2 caras. Además de un volumen bajo. Una pena. No sabemos ya hacer lp’s? Opta por el cd.
