Satisfied with CASIO CGP 700.
5 out of 5 stars
Satisfied with CASIO CGP 700.
The CASIO CGP 700 can produce quality acoustic piano sound with adjusting various sound parameters. With default sound parameter setting the sound is OK. The external speaker gives good bass and loud sound which is awesome. Happy with the product.

I bought this rig to replace my Korg Triton ProX 88 that I had for many years. If you don't do a great deal of complex multi-part recording on your piano this is an amazing instrument. The grand piano is a fantastic, rich, realistic tone, made more impressive by the powerful 40W speaker stand. Another gem of a tone is the 60s EP which is unbelievable. I love how this instrument can be easily detached from the speaker stand for easy transport to gigs if you don't wanna bring the stand. However the stand produces such beautiful sound and the speakers can be rotated outwards so you can use it for small/medium gigs if you wanted to! The whole unit has a nice compact footprint which fits great against the wall of smaller rooms. The touchscreen display is a great bonus, easy to use and basic recording to a USB is simple to do. The touch of the keys is highly sensitive , offer great dynamic range, and for the most part feel realistic and not particularly loud during key travel(more expensive keyboards tend to be a bit quieter but at this price the keyboard is great). Overall, I love this keyboard and recommend it wholeheartedly, it offers impressive sound and features at this price point.

Also, I highly recommend using the SP33 keyboard pedals which I have screwed into the base of the stand, they work wonderfully and look great.

This CGP-700 Digital Grand Piano by Casio is by far the best purchase I have ever made. There were shipping problems unrelated to the seller (I don't know how a 70 pound package disappeared from tracking). And it will seem like a coffin sized box is left on your doorstep. I got it into my house and assembled it myself - it took some time but I could do it without a second person. Once I started playing, it exceeded my expectations. It really does feel like a "real" piano - but almost better...smoother. My practice habits were never regular, but now every night I can't wait to play it. And I feel like I play better too, although that might just be because I am practicing more.

I enjoy playing at all hours of the night without disturbing anyone. With the headsets it sounds like I am playing in a concert hall. With the speakers on it sounds slightly less impressive, but still a very nice sound.

Once it is all assembled, taking it apart to move it will not be too easy. The keyboard alone is about 20 pounds and has some speakers included (which is nice). But once it is on the speaker stand, it is going to take some work to get it unattached. It is not impossible to do, however, it just takes some time.

I haven't even used many of the features included, although they seem interesting. I've tried some of the other sounds and have been pleased, but the grand piano sound is my favorite.

I have used other keyboards in the past, but having one that is so much like a real piano makes it stand out. I can play on this and switch to a piano and not notice a difference. I may never buy a real piano again, since this will never need to be tuned and has so many extra features. It is well worth the money spent.

I really wanted to buy this piano.. I got in on a black friday flash deal for a great price. HOWEVER, this piano showed up to my house broken twice( I returned and got another one). Both times, there was one key that would either stick once played or would continue to sound after not pressed. I did not have any time of sustain/ reverb on and there were no other keys on the piano that did this...I'm deeply disappointed since this piano has a lot of other great features: It's light, has a great screen and sounds, good speakers and I liked the piano action...Very sad that I've had to return the piano twice, but I thought I would inform everyone else of my experience

Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
First off PLEASE take note that the SHIPPING weight for this on Amazon is inaccurate, this is NOT 30 pounds, it is almost 75 pounds!!
Here is the UPS weight when it was shipped: Shipped/Billed On:08/20/2015Type:PackageWeight:72.80 lbs

So make sure you are there when it arrives so you can have them carry it INSIDE the house. I came home late that night and it had been left on our porch and we had a torrential cloudburst, thank goodness the wind had been blowing away from the porch as most times it blows into the porch and the box would have been soaked and or falling apart. I don't know how I would have dragged it inside if it had been soaked!

When I compared this one to the Casio PX750 model I was torn on which one would be best for my daughter as this one does not have the pedals and the 750 (at the same price) does! So even though I wanted to surprise her with this we asked her which one she wanted and she opted for this one, she didn't want the pedals and she liked that this one looked sleeker, more contemporary, not like an old fashioned piano or organ.

It took two people over an hour to get this put together, the legs are not as sturdy as I would like but then again it is not meant to be leaned on so it should be fine. I took off a star for that as it really should be a bit sturdier IMO...

I have owned both an upright piano and an electric keyboard in the past (VERY past about 20 years ago!) and this is definitely more like a real piano (sans the foot pedals). The most noticeable aspect to me was the keys action felt very natural as they would when playing a real piano, they really do feel heavier at the lower register and higher at the top! but this goes far beyond ANY piano with over 500 (550 I think) options for a variety of instruments sounds from synths, drums etc to strings! it is so so much fun!
It has an intuitive menu and you can select tone, rhythm and it even has a mixer!
Then when you are ready you can use the 17-track MIDI recorder, and the USB audio recorder and have it online in a flash!
She really likes it a lot.
So now she says to me, "where's the matching bench".....?
No problem you can get one here, search Amazon for Casio CB7 BK Piano Bench.
Or you can get a wooden one like this: Yamaha BB1 Padded Wooden Piano Bench for about the same price.
You will definitely want a bench! Both of those are not adjustable though, I also saw this one for about $30: Yamaha PKBB1 It is an "Adjustable Padded Keyboard Bench" so be sure to order one when you get the keyboard, you will be glad you did, our computer chair just didn't look right with the sleek pretty piano!

My first piano. Bought this for my kids to learn. And I tried some tunes myself too:). Love the sound and the feel and the overall experience with the touch screen. We havent explored much beyond sound types, but from what we have seen - great device. Big loud speakers built in the stand are a great bonus.

Excellent keyboard. The touchpad was a big selling point for me after I researched other keyboards for key press feel, sound and product quality.

I've used other keyboards that use switches, buttons and sliders for controlling the instrument, having a small touchpad built-in makes navigating the plethora of functions and features effortless.

Best value for the buck with this keyboard.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sounds....
Reviewed in Canada on June 9, 2016
Ok, I'll start by the positive, the piano touch is nice, and the screen make easy to navigate..
But the sounds are not as good as expected, this is a casio, and it's sound like this, synthetic, fake .
I have a roland Rd-64 and I compared both for a while, the roland have more realistic sounds..
Yes the price range is similar but the roland have no speaker integrated and 64 note instead of 88..
Also I find the bass /middle/high non balanced.. the bass is too loud. Sure we can change this option but it prove that casio doesn't make a good job on sound...

It's bad , I would prefer pay a little more and have nice piano sounds with the casio...
