Replaced the existing WiFi Card on a Acer ES1-512-P9GTWindows 10 (Creators Edition) recognized the WiFi card but Windows 10 kept it off.Tired to uninstall the previous WiFi using the following:Click Start, click Run, type cmd.exe, and then press ENTER.Type "set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1", and then press ENTER.Type Start DEVMGMT.MSC, and then press ENTER.Click View, and then click Show Hidden Devices.Expand the Network Adapters tree.Right-click the dimmed network adapter, and then click Uninstall.But that didn't work although I got rid of the 'WiFi 2' issue.There is no WiFi on/off button n this laptop, keyboard controls it but this should not be a problem to turn it on via Windows 10 and that is what I was seeing.Found that PIN 20 and PIN 51 can be disabled with a tiny bit of scotch tape to prevent the voltage from passing.After that the WiFi card is working no issues where as before it was permanently off.

The original card was a Broadcom BCM very finicky and unstable, which I replaced by an Intel card costing twice as much, (this model), with slightly better performance.
This Qualcomm Atheros wifi/ bluetooth adapter is a game changer. Great performance with low investment. Super easy installation considering the short antennae wiring of my laptop.
The wifi / bluetooth card replacement you are waiting for.
I highly reccomend following instructions supplied by the vendor to download the necessary drivers for ultimate performance. Get it!

My asus laptop came with the intel ac7260 card but it never worked correctly, always losing connection. After getting fed up I ordered and installed this card instead and it has worked flawlessly for the last 3 months, so far so good. I didn't have to install any drivers either, windows 10 installed them on its own, so very easy installation, just plug and play. Only downside is the data transfer speed is slower than my old intel card, when transferring files on my network I get 100mbps on 2.4ghz and 168 mbps on the 5ghz band but its still matches my 100mbps internet connection and is reliable so I am happy.

Got this wireless adapter (Combo WiFi 2.4G/5G & Bluetooth 4.0 module, 802.11 ABGN Dual Band, 2T/2R Mini PCI-Express Half-Size Module, Atheros AR9462 chipset) to work after some difficulty finding and installing the drivers. I searched several websites looking for drivers that I dared to download from, and they either didn't work (windows installer did not recognize files) or when I attempted to use the website's downloadable file, it would be detected with my Kaspersky A/V software as malicious. Finally, I got desperate and downloaded WinZip Driver Updater to give it a try. I installed Winzip and it found many drivers on this old laptop that were out of date. I selected the "Unknown Network Adapter" that it listed and downloaded and installed it - VOILA! It worked. It installed Dell Wireless driver 1901 (Qualcomm 10.00.315). This adapter now works great - connects to my Wifi at 300mbs with web pages loading much quicker now. Also, Winzip Updater found 19 drivers that were out of date which I also downloaded and installed - they all worked.

WARNING: Initial problem: I installed the new adapter without removing old drivers. Windows 7 installed some Bluetooth drivers but could not install the wireless adapter drivers. After restart, this computer crashed hard - would not boot. I had to re-install to an earlier backup to get it running again. I then restarted with no adapter installed, and that seemed to remove the old drivers. Check your Device Manager to confirm you have no wireless adapter installed - remove it if you do - then install the new drivers.

It installed easily and, in my case, needed no new drivers for an Acer about 4-5 years old. Sorry I don't remember the specs. The only problem with the install had nothing to do with this chip, just the general pain in the ___ of getting the laptop apart to get to the slot to install it.

The lesson is sometime pay more to get a better product.

Bought it for HP Omni all in one pc. The packet containing the chip was already opened (seemed used by looking at golden contacts). Amazon should see to it that such things won't happen in future.
